Grading Policy
Daily Grades50% (Bell work, Homework, Notes, Participation)
Assessments35% (Tests, Quizzes)
Nine-Weeks Exams15% (Curriculum Based Assessments, Benchmarks)
Assignments/Homework
Assignments will be given daily and must be completed in pencil ONLY. Be sure to always write your full name, date, and period on ALL assignments. Failure to do so will result in point deduction. Homework will be assigned every Wednesday. All class assignments and homework should be completed in a neat and orderly fashion.
Make-up Policy
Assignments can be made up if the student has missed a class/lecture. It is the student’s responsibility to pick up the assignment. The assignment will be placed in a designated area. The student has one day for each day absent to turn in any make-up work. (Exceptions will be considered for students that are absent for prolonged periods of time.)
Late Work Policy
Missing homework or assignments are NOT acceptable. If an assignment or homework is not completed in time, a parent/guardian contact will be made and the grade will drop 20 points. If the work is not turned in the following day, the grade drops to a 70 and a tutorial/detention will be issued.
Tests
Tests will be given approximately every 2-3 weeks. All tests are to be completed in pencil only. During the test, students must follow the proper procedures – no talking, eyes on your own paper, no passing of notes, etc. Failure to follow testing procedures may result in a “0” and a discipline referral.
Re-Test
Students can make corrections to the original test during class review or in tutorials. The re-test must be within 3 school days of the original test date for a maximum grade of 70. Please adhere to the following guidelines when making test corrections:
● Students are required to make test corrections on a separate sheet of paper
●Write down the questions you missed
●Show your work/strategies
●Submit the correct answer
●Staple your corrections to the original test
Tutorials
Tutorials will be held after school every Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in room 826.
*Alternate times will be available for students, upon request.
