Press Release

Sercos Presents a Rally Racing Simulator at SPS IPC Drives

Sercos International, provider of the Sercos® automation bus, will present various exhibits during the SPS IPC Drives Show in Nuremberg, November 28-30, 2017, in hall 2, stand 440, including an Industry 4.0 demonstrator, TSN and open source software demos, as well as a rally racing simulator based on Bosch Rexroth eMotion technology. This technology provides a particularly realistic racing simulation.

The “Dirt Rally” racing simulation application software runs on a host PC. Telemetry data is sent from the host PC to the Rexroth motion IPC via a plug-in. The PC handles motion cuing, status control, input/output, and running all the tools. This PC communicates with the eMotion platform via the Sercos III automation bus.

Visitors can drive the racing simulator at the trade fair. Wearing high-performance Oculus Rift VR glasses, they will see racing track graphics which are very close to reality. Real high-frequency movements deliver an authentic rally racing experience for the driver.

Sercos International offers visitors the opportunity to take part in a prize competition. At the end of each day, the winner of the day will be determined in a time trial, receiving an Amazon gift card worth 100 Euros.

Other demos by various member companies, plus a range of products with Sercos capability, show the broad Sercos portfolio for almost any application.
