Fully variable, demand-related control, face velocity

Microprocessor based control system for variable, seamless control of the exhaust air volume flow depending on the sash opening and the constant face velocity. The face velocity is constantly regulated (e.g. 0.3 m/s), independent of the vertical sash position and independent of the horizontal slide window position.
A high-speed control algorithm compares the setpoint with the actual value measured by a face velocity sensor and regulates the flow quickly, precisely and steadily, independent of pressure fluctuations in the duct system.
The illuminated graphic LC display shows the operating status and the face velocity as a numeric value in m/s or ft/min. The integrated monitoring device for monitoring the ventilation functions of the fume hood is a component of the controller. The face velocity that is to be regulated is continually monitored and thus offers maximum safety for the operating personnel. When the safe face velocity is underrun, an acoustic and optical alarm is issued.
