Prerequisite: Algebra I and Geometry
Course Overview: Algebra II with Trigonometry is a course designed to extend students’ knowledge of Algebra I with additional algebraic and trigonometric content. Mastery of the content standards for this course is necessary for student success in higher-level mathematics. The use of appropriate technology is encouraged for numerical and graphical investigations that enhance analytical comprehension. Algebra II with Trigonometry is required for all students pursuing the Alabama High School Diploma with Advanced Academic Endorsement.
Materials Needed:
- Three- ring binder with pockets
- Pencils and Erasers
- Paper
- Scientific Calculator or Graphing Calculator (Optional)
- Graphing Paper
Grading:
- Tests, quizzes, and projects50%
- Homework and classwork40%
- Class participation and other10%
Grades will be assigned according to final percentage:
100% - 90%A69% - 60% D 89% - 80% B 59% - 0% F
79% - 70%C
Homework: Expect homework daily. Homework assignments will be due at the beginning of the class. Be prepared to help discuss any questions. Each student will be required to present at least one problem to the class. This will count as participation points.
Make-up
Assignments:All students must bring an excuse explaining their absence. If an excuse is not received within three days after the absence, then there will be no make up work assigned.
Test and Quizzes: Expect a test or quiz weekly. If you have to miss a test because of an upcoming event (sports, field trips, & etc.) then see me BEFORE the test to make testing arrangements. If you miss a test because of an unforeseen event (illness, death, & etc.), then take the initiative and come talk to me the day you return so that we may make testing arrangements.

Responsibilities:
1)To be quietly seated when the bell rings.
2)To bring all class materials (books, pencils, paper, notebook, & calculator) daily.
3)To participate in class activities until dismissed by the teacher.
4)To take care of all personal needs (restroom, locker, & etc.) before class.
5)To arrange to make up all missed work the first day back from an absence.
6)To respect the rights and property of others.
7)To understand that all school rules apply in class.
8)To be on time for class. (REMEMBER 3 tardies = 1 absence)
9)To not MISS MORE THAN SEVEN DAYS BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT FOR THIS CLASS.
Study Tips:
1)Pick a place at home that is comfortable and free from
interruptions.
2) Rewrite your notes, use highlighters or different color
pens to bring outimportant items.
3) When doing your homework, write in the margins the
questions you want to ask in class.
4) Put a star or circle the problem number that you need
helpwith.
5) Re-work problems to help study for test.
6) Make flashcards for vocabulary words.
