Decide if each of these problems will use your surface area or volume skills then solve. Use a formula for each. Beware; you need your thinking cap for this!!!!!!!!

1. A truck whose bed is 8 feet long, 5 feet wide, and 3 feet high is delivering sand for a sand sculpture competition. How many cubic feet of sand can the truck carry at one time? How many trips must the truck make to deliver 720 cubic feet of sand?

2. Cody is painting the front door of his house. The dimensions of the door are 80 inches by 36 inches by 2 inches. If he paints all of the surfaces, how much area will he paint? Explain.

3. The town of Riverview provides a rectangular recycling bin for newspapers to each household. If the volume is 3,840 cubic inches, what is the height of the recycling bin?

4. Black fuzzy die are cubes that come in a standard size with an edge length of 3 inches. You want to pull a prank on your friend by filling their locker with these dice. If the volume of the locker is 4887 cubic inches, how many dice will fit?
