Analytical method[1]
For the determination of formaldehyde in the feed additive: titration according to ISO 2227-1972 or Eur. Ph. 6.0, method 01/2008:0826
For the determination of formaldehyde in premixtures and feedingstuffs: Reversed Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled to Diode-Array detection (RP-HPLC-DAD). / Chickens for fattening / - / 200 / 600 / 1. The additive shall be incorporated in feed in the form of apremixture.
2. The additive shall only be used in feed where contamination by Salmonella spp. has been identified.
3. The incorporation of the formaldehyde in feed shall be done bya close system, specifically built for formaldehyde, in order to ensure the correct incorporation] of the additive and to minimise any emissions of liquid or gas into the environment.
4. Protective measures shall be taken according to national provisionsimplementing EU legislation on health and safety at work including Directives 89/391/EEC, 89/656/EEC, 92/85/EEC, 98/24/EC and 2004/37/EC.
6. Without prejudice to the provisions mentioned under point 4, breathing protection, eye protection, gloves and protective clothing shall be used during handling of the additive and of the premixture containing it.
7. A post-market monitoring shall be carried out by the feed business operators responsible for the handling of the additive or premixture containing the additive, concerning the implementation of the structural measures to protect workers' safety, as referred to under points 4 and 5. / [to be completed by the Service responsible for the publication: insert precise date
