Ardingly Activity Centre Season Ticket

Season Ticket (Rowing)

All rowers will row on a Season ticket or Day ticket, and be a member of a British Rowing affiliated Club. All vehicles and trailers must be parked in the main public car park. In the event of craft or equipment needing to be loaded, or unloaded in the boat park, permission must be obtained in writing from the centre. Verbal permission may be obtained for loading and unloading for times of up to 30 minutes. Season ticket holders will have the use of the reservoir, slipway, Boat Park, changing rooms, toilets.

All cars must be parked in the main car park. Season tickets for the car park are available from South East Water. Forms available from the Centre.

·  All craft and equipment must be stored on the racks provided and the racking area must be kept clean and tidy. The amenity building will only be open during normal working hours. All water users must conform to the safety regulations recommended by their national governing body i.e. British Rowing. Special safety consideration should be made when the water temperature is 10 degrees Celsius or below.

·  All water users MUST make every effort to avoid fishermen on the bank. This in practice means about 40 meters clear.

·  All water users should carefully consider their ability and the ability of their craft before going afloat in adverse conditions.

·  All craft must have a valid 3rd party insurance for a minimum of £2,000,000.

·  All craft must have conducted a buoyancy test and must be kept in a seaworthy condition.

·  All craft and equipment must be washed down before being brought to the reservoir.

·  All water users must make sure that they do everything possible to maintain the water purity.

·  All rowers must row within the area defined on the map in the boathouse.

The Centre staff may declare conditions unsuitable for water sports or request that individual craft return to the shore due to their inability in the prevailing conditions. Season tickets holders must accept that while the Centre staff will always try to advise season ticket holders to the best of their ability they do not accept any responsibility for students who go out in conditions beyond their ability. The Centre reserves the right to cancel any or all season tickets and return any money paid in proportion to the amount of time left on the season ticket. In addition the Centre reserves the right to refuse to grant a season ticket to anyone without giving a reason.

“If at any time any season ticket fee or facility fee payable to Ardingly Activity Centre (hereafter called the Centre) by any season ticket holder or former season ticket holder shall be three months or more in arrears:

The Centre shall be entitled to move the craft to any other part of the premises without being liable for any loss of or damage to the craft howsoever caused. The Centre shall be entitled upon giving one month’s notice in writing to the season ticket holder or former season ticket holder, at his last known address shown in the season ticket holder register, to sell the craft and to deduct any monies due to the Centre (whether by way of arrears of season ticket fee, boat parking or facility fees or otherwise) from the net proceeds of the sale before accounting for the balance (if any) to the season ticket holder or former season ticket holder.

Alternatively, any craft, which, in the opinion of the Centre cannot be sold, may, upon such notice as aforesaid, be disposed of in any manner the Centre may think fit and the expenses recovered from the season ticket holder or former season ticket holder. Any arrears as aforesaid shall be deemed to be a debt owing to the Centre by the season ticket holder or former season ticket holder.” Further, the Centre shall at all times have a lien over the season ticket holders’ or former season ticket holders’ craft parked or moored on the centre’s premises or Centre moorings in respect of all monies due to the club, whether in respect of arrears or season ticket fees or mooring fees or subscription or otherwise. Where a season ticket holder is in arrears with the payment of monies owed to the Centre by at least 6 months, the Centre may in any event take possession of the season ticketholders craft.”

Ten days a year may be set aside for special events during which time the water may not be used. One month’s notice will be given by posting a notice on the main notice board at the centre.

In the interest of safety all rowers and scullers will be asked to sign out before taking to the water and to sign in on return, outside club sessions, in accordance with Ardingly Rowing Club’s instructions.

Season tickets are valid from 1 March to 28 February.
