PARENT OPEN MORNINGS

Back by popular demand, once again we have organised a series of open mornings this term, when parents and carers are invited into school to work alongside their child in a fun topic activity. Please check dates so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit your child’s class. Please note, Year 6 will not have an open morning as preparations will be underway for their leaving assembly!

SPORT RELIEF 2016

GYMNASTIC & STREETDANCE LUNCHTIME CLUBS

Gymnastic Club will start on a Tuesday lunchtime and Streetdance on a Wednesday lunchtime. Please see office to put your name down. These clubs are £1 per session and must be paid on the day.

LINGOTOT FRENCH & SPANISH AFTERSCHOOL CLUBS

The French club is for Reception, Year 1 & 2 pupils and will run from 3.15 to 4.15 every Tuesday. The Spanish club is for Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 pupils and will run from 3.15 to 4.15 every Wednesday. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Information about Lingotot clubs is included on a separate sheet along with a slip to hand in by 20th April to secure your place. 50% of the payment must be made in advance and the remainder midway through the course.

THE BIG PEDAL

Once again we are gearing up for our annual cycling competition ‘The Big Pedal’ and we would like EVERYONE to get involved. All you need to do is encourage your child to cycle or scoot to school every day during the event, and join them on their way – parent and sibling journeys count too! Once your child has arrived at school, bikes are to be locked in the bike shelter. Any surplus bikes can be chained to the railings behind the shelter, all bikes MUST be locked. The Big Pedal runs from 18th April to 22nd April. On Friday 22nd will be ‘Bling your Bike’ and the theme is ‘Under the Sea’ and there will be a prize for the best one.

SCHOOL TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE

Please note that you are now able to reply to the text messages we send you from the Kelvin Grove text service. You will be charged the normal network rate by your mobile provider when replying to school texts.If you are unable to explain the reason for your child’s absence in English, please text the school using your own language as we are then able to translate your text back into English.

SCHOOL EMAIL SERVICE

If you haven’t already provided us with an email address please hand your form back in to the class teacher as soon as possible (please also state on this form if you do not have access to email).

NAMED CONTACTS

In line with our Safeguarding Policy, can we please remind all parents/carers that only you are able to give consent for someone else to pick up your children from school. Other named contacts cannot give consent to others to pick up your children. If there is someone else who may collect your children on a regular basis, please complete a consent form which you can get from the main school office. Alternatively, for one off changes, parents/carers may phone the schoolor speak to the class teacher in the morning to inform school that another person will be picking up your child that day.

SAINSBURY’S ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS

From the 27th January you can receive Active Kids Vouchers for every £5 you spend in Sainsbury’s. Please donate your vouchers to the school as we are collecting for our PE resources.

DINNER MONEY

Please put dinner money in an envelope with the child’s name on and give it to the class teacher. Please do not hand in dinner money at the main reception office.
