Conditions of Entry

The competition will be judged under the appropriate Riding Club rules for 2015.

Ages of competitors will be taken on the date of competition where applicable. All horses must be 5 years old and over.

No horse may be ridden in more than one class.

Saddlery and dress must comply with current Riding Club Rules. All hats & body protectors must be to the specified standard.

No jewellery, watch, receiving, recording, transmitting or monitoring device may be worn by any competitor. Outside assistance will incur elimination.

The Judge’s decision is final. No Judge, Steward or Organiser is to be harassed in the event of a dispute.

Objections in writing, accompanied by a payment of £10, to be handed to the Secretary within 15 minutes of the results of a class being posted. Money will only be refunded if the objection is upheld.

All competitors must report to the collecting ring steward for each phase 10 minutes before their time. Failure to do so may result in elimination.

Bad language is deemed unseemly behaviour and will incur elimination.

The practice fence MUST ONLY be jumped in the direction flagged and at the appropriate height for the class in progress.

Eliminated competitors may continue to jump at the discretion of the relevant official, but MUST NOT obstruct other competitors. If told to leave the course, competitors must do so at a WALK.

No dogs are permitted at Fair Oak.

Refunds will only be given on production of a valid Veterinary or Doctor’s certificate within 14 days of the event. An expenses fee may be retained.

The organisers reserve the right to cancel or amalgamate classes depending on entries.

In the event of cancellation the organisers reserve the right to retain £5 from the entry fee to cover expenses.

No claim can be entertained by the organisers, landowner or any person acting on their behalf, for any loss, injury, damage, accident or illness to horses, riders, spectators or any other person or property whatsoever, howsoever caused

Dressage test: BRC Horse Trails Test 100Q (2013)

SJ and XC fences not to exceed 100cm

XC time: 475 metres per minute

CLASS 2 – 90cm

Dressage test: BRC Horse Trials Test 90Q (2013)

SJ and XC fences not to exceed 90cm

XC time: 450 metres per minute

CLASS 3 – 80cm

Dressage test: BRC Horse Trials Test 80Q&C (2013)

SJ and XC fences not to exceed 80cm

XC time: 425 metres per minute

CLASS 4 – 70cm

Dressage test: BRC Horse Trials Test 80Q&C (2013)

SJ and XC fences not to exceed 80cm

XC time: 400 metres per minute

£2 of your entry fee will be donated to Hants & IOW Air Ambulance.

You must bring your own number bib.

Paper numbers will be provided.

HEALTH AND SAFETY NOTICE

Horses are easily frightened and can be dangerous

Members of the public are requested to keep clear of areas containing horses and to refrain from behaviour that might alarm them. Please remain behind ropes and clear the course quickly if a whistle is heard, or if directed to do so by an official. The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring. Instructions from organisers and officials must be obeyed.

Please note: Medical armbands must be worn on arms and are compulsory for the XC section.

Times will be available Thursday 14 May from www.meonrc.org

Allocated times are approximate and may be varied according to the conditions.

Report to the collecting ring steward 10 minutes before start time.

In the event of possible cancellation, a decision will be made and posted on the website by 7.30pm on Friday 15 May.

AWARDS
Placings will be judged on the least number of combined dressage, SJ and XC penalty points, including time penalties.

In the event of a tie in an individual ODE, riders will be placed by considering their marks in the following order: lowest XC penalties (jumping and time), nearest the XC time, highest good dressage marks.

LOCATION

Fair Oak is situated south of the A272 between Petersfield and Midhurst.

Note that there is a 6’6” width restriction for the road into Rogate from the North (Rake direction) and no horse boxes are allowed to use this road. You must enter Rogate via the main road (A272) before turning south towards Fair Oak. Note that on leaving the venue a strict one-way system for lorries and trailers will be in operation. All lorries and trailers must turn left on exit and travel through South Harting.
