A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of Robert C. "Bucky" Robinson.
With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to Robert C. "Bucky" Robinson, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.
WHEREAS, Bucky Robinson was born on January 17, 1925, a native of Ludlow, Kenton County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on May 30, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Bucky Robinson was the loving son of the late Lewis G. and Edna Grace Clarke Robinson; he was the devoted husband of Imogene Houp Robinson; he was the loving father of two daughters, Ruthie Staley of Fort Wright and Claudia Singleton of Crestview Hills, and a son, Richard Robinson of Fort Mitchell; and he was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren and the proud great-grandfather of a great-granddaughter; and
WHEREAS, Bucky Robinson graduated from Ludlow High School, where he was a football player on champion teams in the Little Six league, and he was recently inducted into the school's Hall of Fame in recognition of his many accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Bucky Robinson served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Navy during World War II, where he was assigned to the USS Taylor, the lead escort for General Douglas MacArthur, and the USS Missouri as they sailed into Tokyo Bay to negotiate terms of Japan's surrender; and he was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America, and a past president of the World War II Veterans of Ludlow; and
WHEREAS, Bucky Robinson was an esteemed member of the Northern Kentucky community, where he was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church, and where his funeral service was held on June 2, 2003; he was an agent for the United States Treasury, where he ran audits in criminal cases, and at the time of his retirement, he served as an expert witness for the United States Attorney's office; and he was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees; and
WHEREAS, Bucky Robinson will be remembered for the wonderful love he shared with his wife, children, and grandchildren, and for the many friendships he made and sustained throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, the passing of Robert C. "Bucky" Robinson has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;
NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Robert C. "Bucky" Robinson, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.
Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Robert C. "Bucky" Robinson.
Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mr. Richard Robinson, 2500 Chamber Center Drive, Fort Mitchell, Kentucky 41017.
