The following activity will enable you to consider your own learning environment and role in more detail, and the factors that impact on you and your students experience. As part of this yearly update, you should chose three domains to review and compile your evidence and discuss all 8 domains in practice with your colleagues

Outline the factors that influence effective working relationships within your area and how you help your student integrate into your practice setting.
Consider how you promote inter-professional working relationships with your student.
  1. Creating an Environment for learning
Identify the learning resources available to help your student meet their defined learning needs.
Identify the processes that are in place to enable you to make continuous improvements to the learning environment .
  1. Assessment and Accountability
Outline the different assessment strategies that you use with your student as part of the total assessment process.
Consider how you encourage your student to engage in self-assessment and identification of their learning needs appropriate to their level of practice.
Highlight the forms of feedback you provide and now this helps with your students ongoing development and future learning needs.

Detail how you facilitate learning by
employing a variety of learning strategies and methods.
Detail how you encourage your student to critically reflect on their practice/learning experiences and how this helps to promote future learning.

Identify how you develop the learning environment so that it provides safe and effective care.
Provide evidence of how you set and maintain professional boundaries which allow for effective inter-professional care and team work.

Outline how you support your student in order that he/she can appraise evidence and apply this when appropriate to their own practice.
Identify how you maintain your professional competency.

Outline the evaluation strategies that currently exist within your area, including self and peer evaluation.
Detail the methods you employ to evaluate your students experience and how you use this information for future supervision.
  1. Leadership
Consider how you advocate for your student within the multi-professional team in order to meet his/her defined learning needs.
Detail how you prioritise your work to accommodate support foryour student.
