AreaQualifiersTeams
Currently no club has come forward to host the Area Horse Trials which will probably mean that the qualifier will not run. Area 2 which is north of England have offered the option that Scottish Clubs can send teams to their event but it would be qualifying teams only. Please check the website and facebook for updates, we may yet get a Scottish Club to volunteer!
The dressage/riding test will be hosted by Ladyleys Riding Club at Ladyleys Riding Centre,Old Meldrum on 13th July and Buchan Riding Club will host the SJ/Style Jumping at Philorth Estate, Fraserburgh on the 14th July.Heights are SJ novice, intermediate and open, heights 80cm, 95cm and 1.10m and Style jumping (85cm). It is envisaged that stabling will be organised at Philorth for those competing both days.
Members can enter either to be part of a team, or as an individual – if you are part of a team you are still considered as an individual in the placings.
You can also choose to enter as a qualifier or non qualifier, i.e. if you qualify you can enter the finals which will be held at Banbury, north of Oxford on 2-4 August for horse trials, and at Lincoln on 7-8 September for dressage and show jumping, or you can enter as a non qualifier just to take part in the area competition. The dressage to music finals are at Bury Farm, Buckson the 5-6October.
Competing at either final if you qualify is a great experience, but again is expensive, as you have to meet your own travelling costs. The club pays the entry fees and may help towards the cost of stabling, and you can undertake to do some fundraising at club events.
Please contact Liz Murray to express an interest so she can co-ordinate the club’s entry01241-890422 or ies have to be in early, especially for the qualifiers, so please don’t leave it until the last minute to contact Liz.

Summer Dressage League Changes !!
The committee has taken on board comments from members and decided to change the format of the dressage leagues for the summer.
The first of the two changes is that the Nursery Novice League will return to being held on a different night and to its less formal roots of a training evening rather than a league. The committee feels that the purpose of the league to encourage inexperienced combinations to have a go at dressage has been lost as it merged into the normal league format. The different night should allow a less formal more relaxed evening for members who don’t have the confidence to come along to the main league. There will be no placings/rosettes but the judge will provide feedback.
The other change is to incorporate two Prelim tests into the Novice league rather than this section having to do a Novice test. The intermediates will continue do a Prelim and Novice and the open section will do a Novice and an Elementary.
If you are not sure which section you should enter then please give Claire a call (01241-857598)and she’ll help you.
Interested in Endurance ??
This year Endurance GB (EGB) is offering a Team Endurance Event to affiliated Riding Clubs on a national scale. The competition is now in its fourth year and is growing rapidly.
Riding Clubs are invited to form endurance teams of three to six riders. A Riding Club can have as many teams as they have interested horse and rider combinations. Each Riding Club can then enter their teams into any number of qualifying rides of 30 to 35km (about 20 miles). The qualifying rides can be chosen from over seventy EGB events throughout the country.
Potential riders do not need any special equipment, particular breed or type of horse to get started. Only the rider, their horse and normal riding tack is required. Riders do not have to be members of Endurance GB in order to compete, but they must be current members of their affiliated Riding Club. The Riding Clubs must declare each horse and rider combination with the national organisers before they enter any qualifying ride.
The top team in each League Table for the ten Regions and the top ten teams on a national basis excluding the top ten from the League Tables will be offered a place in the Team Endurance Final at The British Horse Feeds Red Dragon Festival of Endurance on Sunday 6th October 2013. Some wild card places may also be offered at the discretion of the national organisers. Stabling, corralling, camping, lorry parking and refreshments will be available at the venue. Up-to-date Influenza Vaccination Certificates will be required for the final, as specified by British Riding Club rules.
Full details of the Team Endurance Event can be found on our dedicatedwebsite:
Please contact Suzanne if you are interested so she can co-ordinate on 01241-434634 or .
