~ joining mothers’ hearts together to pray Scripture over the lives of their sons and daughters ~
www.i55pray.org
Coordinating an Isaiah 55 Pray-ers group really is simple, and we’ve made the startup even easier by providing audio training sessions, now available at http://www.i55pray.org/#/media/audiovideo-training. In only thirty minutes, you will be ready to extend ladies an invitation to join your I55 group. We’ve also provided this condensed quick-start guide.
Isaiah 55 Pray-ers is for mothers who want to pray with other mothers but time, schedules, or distance prevent physically meeting together on a routine basis. With the I55 format, you can still pray together and be encouraged and strengthened by the community of prayer. You will experience your heart becoming knit together with other mothers’ hearts as you pray, together in spirit, for one another’s sons and daughters.
We welcome not only mothers, but also step-mothers, grandmothers, adoptive or foster mothers, and those special ladies that step in to pray for and represent a son or daughter who does not have a praying mom. All are Isaiah 55 Praying Moms. As for the sons and daughters, there are no age limitations. They all need prayer!
The process to startup an I55 group is as simple as 1, 2, 3:
1. Sign up to receive the bi-weekly Prayer Guide via e-mail at http://www.i55pray.org/#/contact-us/list-serve;
2. Send ladies an invitation to join your Isaiah 55 Pray-ers group (discussed below);
3. Collect Scripture templates from each mother for her sons and daughters (discussed below) and the day each mother chooses to pray.
With this simple startup, you will be ready to complete and e-mail your first Isaiah 55 Pray-ers Prayer Guide.
Extending an invitation:
1. Pray about the mothers you would like to invite, considering that an I55 group generally consists of 5-7 ladies.
2. Extend an invitation by providing three ministry documents, available at http://www.i55pray.org/#/documents:
a. Pray-ers Letter/Invitation (complete the contact information section),
b. Sample Prayer Guide,
c. Sample Scripture Prayer List.
The process for each mother to join your I55 group is also as simple as 1, 2, 3:
1. Each mother will choose a day of the week to pray. If two moms want to pray on the same day, that is fine. Convenience and flexibility is important to a busy mom’s schedule.
2. Provide a private e-mail address, one not shared with a spouse or family. What is shared in an I55 group must stay in the I55 group, so confidentiality is important.
3. Choose a Scripture prayer template for each son and daughter (discussed below).
Then, each mother prays on her prayer day in the privacy of her own home and at a time of her choosing using the Isaiah 55 Pray-ers Prayer Guide (discussed below in more detail).
Choosing a Scripture template:
Some ladies may not be familiar with Scripture praying, so we’ve designed the Sample Scripture Prayer List to enable both choosing a Scripture and learning how to pray using Scripture. Ladies may select from this list or choose their own. Just know that it is a weighty matter, so this phase takes time. If you still need help finding a suitable passage, just e-mail us at with information about the son or daughter’s particular circumstances. We are happy to assist.
About the Prayer Guide:
Each Prayer Guide covers a two-week period, so a new one is released every other week and includes a fresh Scripture prayer example and praise devotionals. Once you receive the Prayer Guide, you will only need to add the list of sons and daughters with the Scripture references and the Pray-ers Schedule. Once your group is established, you will find that Scripture prayer templates aren’t changed very often, so a simple copy/paste from the previous Prayer Guide will have your new one ready to go, a process taking less than five minutes. Coordinating an I55 group really is that simple.
The ‘Your Prayer Time’ section of the Prayer Guide walks ladies through a Scripture-based progression in prayer:
· PRAISE: We update the Praise section each time to include a Scripture reference, praise devotional, and worship video link to help prepare hearts for a rich and meaningful time of worship.
· THANKSGIVING: The Thanksgiving section does not change but is listed as a reminder to bring thanksgiving offerings before the Lord during the time of prayer.
· CONFESSION: The Confession section does not change and serves to remind ladies of the importance of confessing sins before God prior to interceding for the sons and daughters.
· INTERCESSION: In the Intercession section, you will list the names of each son and daughter along with their Scripture selection. If the mother wants to add a short note to expound on the Scripture text and better share her heart, that is fine. When listing the Scripture requests, order them according to the natural sequence of the Bible. Some ladies may not be familiar with the order of the books, and this will save valuable prayer time and prevent the distraction of searching for Scripture.
The last section after ‘Your Prayer Time’ is the Pray-ers Schedule, where you list the day each mother has chosen to pray. The final commitment each lady makes is to pray for the other Pray-ers on their prayer day. Therefore, this section is intentionally listed last, since it is a prayer matter that continues throughout the week.
Words of Caution:
The Prayer Guide is for sons and daughters represented by the mothers in the Schedule of Pray-ers. If you desire to share other requests, please do so via e-mail and outside of the Prayer Guide. If a mother chooses to withdraw from your group, though the associated sons and daughters’ names will need to be removed, remind ladies that this doesn’t preclude them from praying. Encourage them to include those sons and daughters on their personal prayer lists.
Note of Encouragement:
We also make available an article called a Note of Encouragement, provided to encourage mothers in their spiritual growth, discipleship, and prayer life. When sending the Prayer Guide, you may attach the Note of Encouragement document to the e-mail or copy/paste into the body of the e-mail.
Final Words of Encouragement:
Be encouraged as you embark on this prayer ministry to which God has called you. Some days prayer will flow, and some days prayer will be work. Either way, labor faithfully, knowing that prayers are so treasured by our Heavenly Father that he holds them in golden bowls, entrusts their care to the four living creatures and twenty-four elders, considers them incense, and keeps them ever near His throne. No prayer is ever forgotten by our Father:
“And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” Revelation 5:8
