SENIOR MANAGER REVENUE
SALARY: R542 124.00 – R703 728.00 p.a. T17
Total Cost to Company: R909 510.00 – R1 118 139.00 p.a.
Job Purpose: Manages the Revenue Division comprising monthly billing, customer care, credit control, debt collection, rates and prepaid electricity. Controls the preparation of Capital and Revenue Estimates of these divisions. Manages, co-ordinates and controls the key performance and result indicators associated with the Revenue functionality through the compilation and implementation of laid down policies, systems and procedures regulating revenue, providing input into longer term objective setting and revenue sequences and directing and executing accounting and administrative procedures and processes to ensure legislative compliance and sound financial management practices; Monthly reporting; Attend to staff matters; Attending various meetings; Ensuring customer accounts for services rendered are processed and delivered monthly and income therefore collected; Ensuring balancing of control accounts and reconciliation of suspense accounts.
Duties: Identifies and defines the immediate, short and long term objectives/plans associated with the Revenue functionality; Directs, manages and controls the key performance indicators and outcomes of personnel within the division; Manages, controls and directs the implementation of specific financial procedures, systems and controls associated with the various financial activities of the division; Manages the Revenue division comprising the consolidated billing, customer care, prepayment, debt management and rates; Controls all accounting and administration functions relating to the department; Prepare estimates of Capital and Income and Expenditure; Assists the CFO with the operations of the Finance Directorate; Attends to legal matters; Attends Council, Standing Committee and Departmental meetings.
Requirements:Degree in Financial Management , Administration or relevant NQF level 7 qualification; Compliance with the relevant Minimum Competency Levels for Financial Officials as prescribed should be obtained within 18 months of appointment; Code B driver’s licence; Computer literacy (MS Office applications and Municipal Financial System); Proficiency in at least two of the official languages of the Western Cape; Good management, human relations, interpersonal and communication skills; Analytical skills; Ability to give attention to detail; High level of responsibility; Ability to work under pressure.
Experience:7 years relevant experience in Revenue of which 5 years must be in a middle management capacity.
