Bonjour! Hello Parent(s)/Guardian(s) and Students!

Seesaw

Thank you to students and parents/guardians for returning our Seesaw Code of Conduct. As soon as I have all pages signed, I will be sending home further instructions on how to access your child’s account.

Planners

I will be checking students’ planners daily, so please feel free to write any comments. Please sign or initial your child’s planner every night and I will look for your signature or initials every morning. It is the student’s responsibility to write down their own homework.

End of the School Day

Thank you to parents and guardians who are writing notes in their child's planners informing myself and Mrs. Gregory about end of the day pick up procedures. This is just a reminder: If your child is going home with another student or is taking a different way home (for example: Your child usually takes the bus but is being picked up by someone at the end of the day) we need a note informing us about the end of the day pick up.

Reminders from the Office

Treats –Treats and baked goods are not to be sent or brought in at any time due to serious allergy concerns.

Balloon arrangements: If balloons are sent to school, they must be latex free and will be delivered to the classroom near the end of the day.

Subjects

Speaking and Listening in French- Students have completed their interview project and results will be coming home shortly. A rubric and a small note already went home regarding this project.

Word Study, Grammar and Writing- Students will be given their final recount writing topic. Expectations for our recount unit can be found in your child’s writing book at school. Expectations for recount writing have been reviewed weekly in class.

Reading Program- GB+ Reading assessment results went home during the month of October. It was an orange piece of paper that was stapled inside your child’s planner.

Students are aware of where they can find extra reading logs for the current month if they have lost or misplaced their first one. It is a student’s responsibility to get a new reading log in class.

Students should be taking out one French book from the school library to help them complete their reading log. Students are also still encouraged to sign out books from my classroom library. If students need help choosing a book, they need to come and see me.

Math

We continue our study of number sense and numeration. Students are currently working on problem solving using money involving real life situations as well as using problem solving strategies.

This is just a reminder for students: If you need extra help or you need something reviewed, please ask for help before assessments are given.
