GATHERING FOR PRAISE

Prelude Harriet Fiihr

Call to Worship Psalm 24:1-4

Leader: The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,

the world, and those who live in it;

People: for he has founded it on the seas,

and established it on the rivers.

Leader: Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?

And who shall stand in his holy place?

People: Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,

who do not lift up their souls to what is false,

and do not swear deceitfully.

*Worship Hymn “O Worship the King” 10

*Prayer of Confession

Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen

The Trustees are asking for volunteers to paint rooms on the main floor of the Manse August 4, 5 & 6 beginning around 4 until about 8 o’clock. If you are willing to paint let Ed Petitt know or just show up whenever you can. Bring paint supplies, brushes, paint pans and rollers. If you would like to volunteer to bring sandwiches or bars for the painters there is a sign-up sheet in the narthex.

Thank You

To the many people that help our family get ready for Dad’s household auction, we would like to say thank you. Many hands Sat. morning made quick work of moving the rest of the items outside. The auction went well, and we will continue to work towards now selling the house.

Dad is doing well and is content, but is very confused, and not aware of what is real and what is not. He enjoys visits but has a hard time staying focused for very long. We are thankful that he is pain free and seems to know who we are, although gets some of the grand kids mixed up. Thank you for always being there for our family through the years.
