Volunteer Role Description – Community Fundraiser
Volunteer role purpose / Stonewall’s Fundraising Team inspires people to support Stonewall in whatever way they can. We raise vital, sustainable funds so the organisation can function independently now and in the future. This volunteer role will support Stonewall’s Supporter Fundraising and Fundraising Events Team.We are looking for volunteer fundraisers who are keen to be an ongoing part of the team, supporting our fundraising activities and events and engaging within their communities through fundraising.
You may be asked to support a range of activities, projects and events from cheering on our runners at the London and Brighton Marathon to staffing a stall at Pride events to supporting in collecting donations from members of the public to helping sell raffle tickets to our guests at fundraising events such as the equality dinner.

When: / Varied - Includes evenings and weekends
Suggested commitment: / We have a busy schedule of fundraising activities and events throughout the year and would offer the opportunity to support for up to 8-12 hours per month to each volunteer
Suggested activities: / • Supporting thefundraising events team at events including the Equality Dinner, Summer Party, Stand-up Sessions and other events by staffing the cloakroom, greeting and guiding guests, raffle ticket sales and auction promotion and other reasonable tasks as required
• Supporting the community fundraising team at events such as the London Marathon, Brighton Marathon, Ride London, Royal Parks Half Marathon and other such events by cheering on our participants and helping support the team with general duties such as setting up a cheering station, handing out refreshments, taking photographs
• Support the team in fundraising at Pride (or other such outdoor fundraising activities) including collecting donations from the public, speaking with members of the public about ways of supporting Stonewall and general Pride duties such as selling merchandise to the public, helping set up and pack away the stall, giving out leaflets and other such reasonable tasks
• With the support of the Support Fundraising team carrying out your own fundraising activities within your community
Experience & skills / • Passion and enthusiasm for the values and objectives of Stonewall
• Great communicator and people person
• Ability to learn new tasks
• Ideally some customer service or hospitality experience OR
• Ideally some fundraising experience
• For some tasks, ability to lift and move boxes/suitcases (training will be provided)
Supervision and training / Stonewall will provide you with relevant training, and support from a member of the team
Reimbursement of expenses / Stonewall will cover reasonable travel costs or meals for this role
