Lakeside Golf Coursewill open new holes and host events this summer

Lake Milton, Ohio (April 12,2009)– Area golfers will have the opportunity to play a re-designed back nine and enjoy special events this summer at Lakeside Golf Course in Lake Milton.

For the past two years, Lakeside has worked on a re-design of the back nine. The new course layout will eliminate the current #15 and #16 holes, which feature par four back-to-back, dog-leg holes. The current par three 18th hole will become the 16th hole, and golfers will finish the back nine on a new18th hole.Weather permitting, the new designed back nine will be playablemid-summer.Lakeside opened the back nine in 1978.

“We take great pride in the quality of the golf course,” said Mitch Blazek, course superintendent. “We’ll continue to focus our efforts on grooming the course and looking for ways to make the course a better experience for golfers.”

Last year, Lakeside upgraded the sandtraps and landscaping on numerous holes.

Renovations were made to the club house this past spring, and food service will be expandedfor the 2009 season.
