Volleyball Rules USVA rules will be used with the following exceptions:
New Serving Rule: If the serve contacts the net while going over, the ball will still be in play.
No setting on serve reception.
Match - A match will consist of 3 games. All 3 games will use rally scoring to 21 with a cap of 23.
Rosters - You may play for more than one team during the season but for only one team in the playoffs and you must have played for that team at least once. A minimum of 2 players are required to start a match.
Scheduled Match Times: You will be given a 5-minute grace period, if after 5 minutes you still do not have the minimum number to begin the match you will forfeit the first game. You will then receive an additional 15 minutes to get enough players for the last two games or you will forfeit all games. Forfeits - If your team forfeits 2 matches you will be dropped from the league with no refund. If your team will not be able to make it, please contact the other team’s captain.
No open hand dinks. A dink is defined as taking the fingertips and with one hand maneuvering the ball over the net. A two handed set may be used to play the ball over the net as long as the ball travels in the direction that your shoulders are squared to.
Setting - You may set the ball over only if the ball travels in a straight line in direction the player setting the ball was facing. The ball not drift over the net while making an attempt to set a team mate.
You may go under the net after playing the ball as long as you don't interfere with any player on that side of the net.
Playing Boundaries: You may not go onto another court of the side walk before or after playing the ball.
