Deanna makes strides to move off assistance
Deanna saw the FSS program as an opportunity to gain employment and build a savings account for her family. Deanna came to FSS as a recent college graduate, who was unemployed and needed support finding a job that will provide for her two young children. She was able to secure employment with Community Hospital in the Community Resources Department. Deanna could now focus on paying down debt and creating a FSS escrow account. Overtime Deanna could utilize some her savings to help with car repairs, and purchasing business clothing to help transition into a more professional role with the hospital. She was able to save over $8,300 in her FSS account. Deanna and her children are now off all housing assistance and are on to the next exciting chapter of their lives. Deanna has been grateful for the housing assistance, which made her housing expenses more affordable. She says that the FSS program gave her chance to get on her feet and create a savings account that may not have been possible otherwise.
