Instructions:

1. By reading these instructions carefully and by accurately completing this Client Worksheet, you will provide me with perhaps everything that I need to start and complete your initial design (Preliminary Plan). This is a way of helping both of us save time.

2. Before starting this Client Worksheet, you should complete our comprehensive and copyrightedExcel Price Worksheet. The Excel Price Worksheet is provided to help you think through and prioritize your project “must have” and “like to have” features and narrow the scope of your project to fit your budget (it is incredibly helpful when clients have done their homework prior to procuring our services). Please call me if you have trouble fill out this spreadsheet. I want to help you understand your costs.

3. This Client Worksheet is provided in a Microsoft Word format. Links in this form are pointed to pages on my websites. Please ensure that you have an Internet connection and that you are working “online” prior to filling out this form.

4. Payment of the Design Fee Retainer is required prior to us starting a Preliminary Plan. You can use PayPal. Just add 4% or use “Friends & Family”. Or (the preferred method) is to text a photo of your check made out to Virginia Decking & Remodeling LLC to 540 840-7243. Just insure you snap a photo of your WHOLE check. Don’t cut off the ends. The Design Fee Retaineris credited to your contract and is non-refundable.

5. I prefer that you email this completed Client Worksheet to but you can fax it to 540 786-3324.

6. In the unlikely event you attempt to do an “end run” around me and contract directly with my builder, you will owe me the total labor amount of the contract for liquidated damages. I work hard for my money. Please do not attempt this. It may not be illegal but it is very wrong. By submitting this form you agree to this statement.

7. Please remember to complete all parts of this worksheet that pertain to your specific project. An incomplete worksheet will only delay completing the Preliminary Plan. Time is of the essence… so let’s get going!

Please insert a wide angle elevation view photo of your house wall here… one
that captures the whole house wall if possible. I need to see as much as possible.

Please insert a side elevation view photo of your house here. I need to
see how the terrain meets the house… the “lay of the land” so to speak.

Please insert your rough sketch in the box below. Be sure to include dimensions that tell me the location of doors, windows, etc.. If a deck is to be built, I need locations of doors and windows for the basement level (so we don’t locate a support post in the middle of a basement window) and the first floor level (so we don’t put a railing in the middle of a window). If a porch or sunroom, then I also need locations of windows on the second story (so I can properly design the roof). Thanks!

Please insert your House Location Suvey (plat) here. It should be to scanned as is (not distorted) and nothing cut off. Then save this Client Worksheet and email it to me with your filled out Excel Price Worksheet. Trust me when I tell you that working thru the Excel file will help you and me both… you to prioritize and me to know better what you want. (Delete this text so HLS will fit)
