Gulf Shores & Orange Beach Tourism -- Tips for Best Brochure Rack Display

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism (GSOBT) offers a valuable opportunity for visitors to our area to familiarize themselves with our island paradise and to learn about a myriad of lodging options, activities, attractions, restaurants and events that will make for special vacation memories. They often learn about businesses by visiting our two Welcome Centers. Brochure display space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis to those businesses following standard display tips.

Business Eligibility for Display

Brochures displays are devoted to Industry Partners recognized by GSOBT, i.e., your business has a current business license valid in our Alabama tax districts (Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, or the unincorporated area of Fort Morgan)and offers products or services of interest and use by a tourist to our area. Please note that brochures or collateral that markets units or businesses outside of our identified tax districts in conjunction with units or businesses inside our area are prohibited.

If you are a lodging business, we will need confirmation that you have registered with the State of Alabama as a registered lodging tax collector and are in good standing as such. Lodging materials must market short-term lodging and rentals that are subject to lodging tax.

Events should have their collateral available at least 2 to 3 months prior to event for best visitor attraction benefit.

Brochures for regional tourist attractions located outside our stated tax districts and that are within 50 miles of our Welcome Centers may be accommodated on a space available basis and subject to these brochure rack display suggestions.

Brochure Display Design Suggestions

  • A vertical layout and suitable design will enable your collateral piece to stand out.
  • Information containing the subject of your business or pertinent information (business or event name, dates and location) should be displayed “boldly” within the upper 1/3 of the brochure front for best in-rack visibility.
  • Clear and distinct type fonts are best.
  • Photography enhances your offering if it depicts what your business offers.
  • Color selection is key in achieving high visibility, but it should tie into your design and not appear offensive or garish.

Paper must be of a quality and weight (minimum 100 lb. weight for two-sided rack cards; 80 lb. for multi-fold rack brochures) so that the brochure will not “flop” over. It should hold up in various display environments (dampness, warmth, strong sunlight, etc.). Please provide atotal quantity of 600 of your itemstwo to three working days before your desired display date.

Brochure WidthBrochure Height

Not under 3.5 inches and not over 4 inchesNot under 8.5 inches and not over 9 inches

The only exception to this mentioned size is the use of magazine sized annual vacation rental guides or tourism guides. Please note that material in bad taste is prohibited. We also cannot display materials for any businesses that are illegally prohibited from operating within our identified tax districts.
