New Crop of Episodes Debuts Spring 2010

(Boston, MA) From her brand new studio perched on the shores of Lake Michigan, in her home state of Michigan, lifestyle guru Katie Brown and her workshop crew demonstrate fun and inexpensive cooking, decorating and craft projects, and provide great gardening tips designed to turn any house into a home.

Katie’s accessible, down-to-earth Midwestern sensibility and bubbly personality shine throughwhether she’s finding creative ways to entertain, fashioning thoughtful homemade gifts preparing simple yet sophisticated dishes, or working her magic in the garden.

In season five of Katie Brown Workshop, premiering on public television stations nationwide in April 2010 (check local listings), Katie serves a spicy Mexican menu during a special “South of the Border”-themed episode, ushers in the holidays with seasonal dishes and festive tabletop centerpieces, and offers tips on planting seedlings, herbs and vegetables. Her do-it-yourself ideas range from dressing up ordinary votive candles with flowers and lace to designing faux-Fabergé eggs.

The budget-consciousmother of two also suggests imaginative ways to entertain and engage little ones. In the“Kids Day” episode, Katie crafts “creatures” from paper plates and whips ups tastytreats like fruit kebabs and butterscotch hot chocolate.
