Art with a Spin
Science Explorers will complete a circuit to build their own spin art machine. The science continues as they create art while experimentingwith centripetal and centrifugal forces. / Bouncing Bungee
Science Explorers will experiment with the effects of gravity and acceleration on objects…they must make predictions to keep their bungee test tube safe! / Balancing Act
Science Explorers will investigate the center of gravity in a variety of objects as well as within themselves. They will build a tightrope and design their tightrope walker to stay perfectly balanced. / A Little Leverage
Simple machines make work easier…and they can also be used for fun! Science Explorers will build a catapult, which is a lever, to launch pompoms in all directions. / Carnival Concoctions
What’s a carnival like without some yummy treats? Science Explorers will use science to freeze homemade ice cream, and make their own soda pop with fresh ginger. Then they will use chemistry to make their own face paints.

Rockin’ Roller Coaster

Science Explorers will work in engineering teams to design and build marble roller coasters full of loops, twists and ramps. We’ll explore gravity, inertia, and potential and kinetic energy. / Polar Opposites
Why don’t water and oil mix? We will conduct experiments on density and polarity to find out. We will also use emulsifiers to help bring our immiscible liquids together. We’ll use our knowledge to make awesome lava lamp test tubes. /
Moving Colors
Science Explorers will learn about solubility and will be able identify the solute and solvent in our experiments. We will create great artwork to demonstrate solubility. /

Arcade Adventures

Science Explorers will set up an array of awesome arcade games using the science of air pressure. They will also play probability games and calculate their chances of winning. / A Day at the Amusement Park
We wrap up our week by inviting families to camp for the last hour to enjoy a fun “day at the amusement park”. Get a chance to see everything your camper has done this week, and participate in the fun!

Please be aware that hands-on science can get messy, so please dress your child appropriately. (Leave good clothes at home.) You may bring a smock each day if you like. Thank you!
