THE ORCHARDS & MARGARET MARSH PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD AT MANSTON VILLAGE HALL ON TUESDAY 17th MAY 2016 STARTING AT 7PM
Present: Cllr Mrs L Stranger (Chairman), Cllr Mrs V Stokes, and Cllr T Craven.
In attendance- P Knott (Clerk) and two members of the public
Apologies: Cllr M Bone and Cllr B Dawe-Lane
- Approval of minutes for 2015 meeting-The minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on the 19th May 2015, were confirmed as a true record, and signed by the Chair. There were no matters arising from the minutes.
- Chairman’s Report- Cllr Mrs Stranger presented the following report-
Four Parish Council meetings have been held during the past year.
The expenditure budget for the Financial Year 2016-2017 was set at the January meeting at £1, 505-00p a reduction of £320-00p on the previous year. No contingency figure has been included as there are sufficient funds in the general reserves to cover any unforeseen expenditure. Funding for any future grant awards will also be taken from the General Reserves.
Funding has been set aside in the General Reserves for the repair of the notice boards at Margaret Marsh, East Orchard and West Orchard, refurbishment of the call box at West Orchard and grant to the local church magazine, in return for the inclusion of quarterly reports for the Parish Council.

The Old Chapel- Parsons Lane Hartgrove
Highways matters brought to the attention of the County Council Highways Department include the condition of the road surface at West Orchard a blocked culvert at Margaret Marsh and a requirement for flood warning signs at Winchells Farm East Orchard.
Street nameplate signs have been erected at either end of Church Lane East Orchard.
A replacement Cherry Tree has been planted at West Orchard
Minutes for Annual Parish Meeting 17th May 2016 continued-
Grant Awards of £l00-00p each were made to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the North Dorset Citizens Advice Bureau and £50-00p to Forest Holme Hospice
Three Parish Wardens litter clearance scheme continues to operate in the three parishes. This scheme has now been in operation for a number of years, being one of the first to be implemented by a Parish Council in Dorset.
Finally I would like to thank the members of the Parish Council, the Parish Wardens, District Cllr Jane Westbrook and County Councilor Andrew Cattaway for their support during the past year
