CLASSES
CLASS 1
2’6” Novice 9.30am prompt
Fences will have a maximum height of 2’6”(save for brush fences)
At the close of entry horses must not have won more than £25 in Hunter Trials and must not be registered Grade A or B with the BSJA
This class is a qualifier for the Finals of theBHS Cross Country Championships 2011-Novice Class. Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.
Entry Fee £12.00
This class will be divided into 2 sections.
Section A- under 14.2h.h. } 2 highest placed BHS Gold members in each
Section B -14.2h.h. or over.} section will qualify for BHS Championships
PRIZES in each section £15, £10, £8 and rosettes to 8th place.
Both sections will be run simultaneously.
Special Rosette forbest rider 10 years or under.
Special Rosette forbest rider 12 years or under.
Only one special rosette in class-from either section.
Both special rosettes cannot be won by the same person.
CLASS 2
2’6” Pairs 12.30pm approx.
Fences will have a maximum height of 2’6” (save for brush fences).
No restrictions on the amount won by horses or riders.
This class is a qualifier for the Finals of the BHSCross Country Championships 2011-Novice Pairs Class. Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.
Entry Fee £18.00
Prizes£20, £15, £10 and rosettes to 8th place.

CLASS 3
3’0” Intermediate 2.00pm approx.
Fences will have a maximum height of 3’0” (save for brush fences).
This class is a qualifier for the Finals of the BHS Cross Country Championships 2011-Open Class. Open to any senior or junior rider on horses or ponies.

NOTES
1ENTRIES:All entries to be received by the Secretary by 6pmon Monday5th September. (late entries 50% extra)
2WITHDRAWALS:To Fordingbridge (01425) 653339 before 9pmon Tuesday 6th September.
3COURSE:The course will be open for inspection on Saturday 10th September between 12 noon and 6pm.
4THE ORGANISERS reserve the right to alter or cancel any class, divide any class, to alter the advertised times and to refuse any entry
without stating the reason.
5THE ORGANISERS of this event have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.
6LOCATION:The course is situated just off the A36 10 miles south of Salisbury. It will be signposted in Landford village and from the A36.
7REFRESHMENTS:Will be available on the course.
8DOCTOR and/or St JOHN AMBULANCE or equivalent will be in attendance. Vet and farrier on call.
9NUMBERS:£5 deposit (refundable) will be taken for each number cloth.
10This event is a qualifier for the Finals of theBHS Cross Country Championships 2011. In the nominated qualifying classes, the TWO highest placed riders(or two highest placed Pairs) who are BHS Gold Members ON THE DAY OF THE QUALIFIERwill qualifyfor the Final. In the event of a combination of horse/pony and rider already having qualified, the qualification will pass down to the next eligible competitor. You must provide the Entries Secretary with your BHS membership number when you enter the qualifier but we recommend you also carry your membership card on the day. Non-members may enter qualifying classes. Competitors placed 1st and 2nd who are not Gold members on the day of the competition will also have the opportunity to qualify by becoming a Gold member of the BHS up to 7 days after the qualifier date. This will not pass down and does not affect the highest placed BHS members. All competitors must have had a clear jumping round, time penalties would be allowed but competitors couldn’t qualify with jumping penalties. Competitors who compete on day tickets would still be able to qualify for the BHS Cross Country Championship as long as they were not placed 1st-6th at the BE Event prior to qualifying for the BHS Championship. Rules at qualifiers may differ from those at the Finals. Classes at the finals will be Novice and Pairs (both max 2’9” and Open (max 3’3”). CONDITIONS AND RULES OF ENTRY
1The competition will be run in accordance with the current BHS and MFHA rules for Hunter Trials and will include a timed section.
The Judge’s decision will be final.
2All horses must be four years old or over.
3In the event of abandonment of the Hunter Trials refunds will be at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
No entries accepted without remittance.
No receipt for entries will be sent.
Refund of entry fee only on production of vet’s certificate.
Late entries will be accepted subject to availability, at a surcharge of 50%of the Entry Fee.
4No competitor may practice on any part of the course prior to the event.
No horse may compete more than once in any one Class. Hunting or Cross Country dress to be worn. Competitors must wear a current BS standard kite marked hard hat. Acurrent BS standard body protector is COMPULSORY as is a medical arm band. Hard hats must always be worn by all persons riding eitheron the course or warming up.
Any Competitor jumping any fence other than the allotted practice fence unless under Starter’s orders will be disqualified.
5DOGS MUST BE KEPT UNDER CONTROL AT ALL TIMES
(Game birds nearby).
6£3 towards First Aid cover must be added to every entry on the entry form.
7The committee reserves the right to reduce the advertised prize money and rosettes in the event of low entries.
