Alpine ROC Update, Queenstown Event Centre, 13/06/2016

Health and Safety Update. (See SSNZ H&S Power Point for details)

·  Concern was raised from the floor around legal support for TD’s from Snow Sports NZ. Marty Toomey agreed that it was not clear what support might be required or available if a major incident did occur. Marty agreed that Snow Sports NZ would support TD’s that have followed process and procedure and that it would back TD’s who called off a race as a result of H&S concerns.

·  Hannah circulated the Medical Document (See SSNZ Event Medical Document)

·  Concerns were raised around the alignment of procedures between resorts, ROC’s and TD’s within a race. ROCs and clubs were encouraged to talk to resorts well ahead of their events to determine who would assume responsibility (e.g. TD vs Patrol) for which elements (e.g. piste preparation, course set) and to arrange a process to consider overlapping duties.

·  Coaches wanted to see a push for a Super G at Cardrona.

·  Nils Coberger asked whether the free passes for Winter Games in 2015 could be changed to free entry in 2017 to provide better benefit for NZ athletes. This is due to most NZ athletes already having passes for NZSki.
