2. A sincere love for students and a record of successful ministry with them.

3. A servant leader with excellent relational skills

4. A teachable spirit

5. A commitment to work in community with other staff, volunteer leaders and parents.

Ministry Responsibilities

1. Pursue relationship with God – 1st priority

2. Pray for students and families regularly

3. Lead a D-Group

4. Actively care for middle school girls

Pursue students - involved and uninvolved

Contact/invite/connect

5. Contact students weekly

Games, plays, coffee, emails, phone…

1:1 and small groups

6. Assist in the details of the ministry – servo, camps…

7. Attend scheduled events

8. Attend church and youth Sunday school

9. Mentor woman volunteers

10. Attend youth staff and program staff meetings

Covenant’s Youth Ministry exists to help students and parents know the love of God and to grow in GRACE together.

Style

The Ministry to the Youth at Covenant is relational. Relational youth ministry is sharing the Gospel in the context of liking students, spending time with them and sharing life together. As Paul said,

“we loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well”

1 Thessalonians 2:8

Relational youth ministry is needed:

“until a student is environmentally comfortable, he/she won’t become theologically aware” Anonymous

“A person too anxious about being shamed cannot learn”
