Meeting for Worship with Attention to Business: 5/8/2016
Present:

The meeting opened with silence.
The minutes from 2/14/2016 were read and affirmed.

Committee Reports:
Treasurer:The full report is attached.
Please note that there are three months covered by this report. The few outgoings include rent and payment for our advertisement in Friends Journal and to QuakerCloud for the web site. Regular donations mean that we have $1700-$1800 in available funds. Investments have brought in a small amount. Our contribution to SCYM will be due soon.
The sale of the Girls Lodge has been completed. Our rent will remain the same and will be mailed to the same address as before – SGI, PO Box 2537, Stillwater, OK 74076.
Donations are always welcomed and can be placed in the small wooden donations box at Meeting, given directly to the Treasurer or mailed to Stillwater Friends Meeting, PO Box 94, Stillwater, OK 74076-0094. Checks should be made payable to ‘Stillwater Friends Meeting’.
Friends accepted the Treasurer’s report.
Children’s Religious Education: The committee will meet next First Day, 5/15/16 at 2:30pm at the Garbutt home, 1615 S Westridge St, Stillwater to plan First Day School for summer and fall. We need to develop the curriculum to reflect the greater capacity of the children to understand and learn about Quaker tradition.
Adult Religious Education: The committee has not yet met.
Ministry and Care: The committee has not met recently but will soon.
Peace and Social Concerns: The last Love Feast went very well thanks to Elizabeth, Bill and the Brooks family. Elizabeth will check the date of the next Love Feast as it would fall on the July 4th holiday.
Web site: The site is updated regularly by Bailey Norwood. There is a link to the sign-up sheet for FDS teachers and assistants. As the semester progresses this link can be hidden amongst more recent announcements, but it can also be found by clicking on the Resources button at the top of the home page. Unfortunately some Friends cannot access documents beyond the home page. Bailey will check QuakerCloud and try to determine and rectify the problem. He suggested using Facebook but that would not be helpful as some do not use social media.
Old Business:
Budget: The budget for 2016 was approved.
Permanent sign: The previous owners of the building had given permission for us to erect a permanent sign outside, but the change of ownership means that this is now on hold. Ron will contact the new owners to see whether they will allow SFM to put up the sign.
New Business:
Quarterly Meeting will be 6/3/16-6/5/16. Each monthly meeting is responsible for providing a meal during the weekend. SFM has been asked to provide Saturday breakfast, but it is unclear whether anyone will be able to attend the weekend. Perhaps we could provide funds for the meal instead.
Oklahoma Council of Churches: SFM regularly gives a donation to OCC but we have not received any communications from them for a long time. Elizabeth will contact them and ask to be added to their contacts list to ensure that we receive their mail/email.
Reminder for Stillwater residents: This weekend, 5/14/16, is the postal carriers’ spring food drive. Please put canned goods out by your mailbox for your mailman to pick up. At this time of the year the local food pantries are running low on supplies – every little helps.
