How to Recycle Plastic Bags and Wrap

In an effort to recycle as much as possible, many people mistakenly put their plastic bags in their blue recycling carts. Plastic bags, shrink wrap, bubble wrap and other types of “stretchy” film plastic are recyclable – but not at the curb! These items regularly tangle the machinery that is meant to sort out our recyclables at our recycling facility. Instead, plastic bags, film and wrap can be properly recycled by placing them in the receptacles found near the front of most grocery stores.

What to do with old electronics and tvs

E-Cycle Washington is a program that provides free recycling of computers (including laptop and “tablet” PCs), monitors, TVs, portable DVD players and e-readers. Peripherals and accessories such as mice, printers and scanners are NOT covered under the program, although they may be accepted by the recycling drop off sites for a fee. For recycling locations, call 1-800-recycle or visit www.ecyclewashington.org.
