Canvas is a cutting-edge Learning Management System (LMS) that connects all the digital tools and resources teachers use into one simple place. Teachers use Canvas to post all homework assignments. The calendar feature in Canvas syncs all course due dates into one user calendar, meaning that students and parents are able to view all upcoming assignments for each class by looking at one central calendar that reflects all of the student’s courses. Some teachers use additional features in Canvas.

1. Please go to the Union Catholic website at www.unioncatholic.org and select the link towards the top right to access Canvas.
- Select the option, Parent of a Canvas User…Click Here For an Account
3. Please enter your name, your email address, your child’s username and your child’s password. Your student will need to provide you with his or her login credentials. Check the box agreeing to the terms of use. Select Start Participating.
4. You can begin participating in Canvas by clicking the Get Started button. To finish registering for Canvas, log into your email account. You will be directed to access your email to complete the setup process.
5. Open the email from Instructure Canvas. Click the link provided to complete the registration process.
6. Enter the required information to complete the registration process. 1. verify your email 2. Enter your password in the field directly under your email address 3. click the Register button. You will be redirected into Canvas .
7. You will now view the dashboard of your Canvas account
8. Select Settings towards the top right
9. You can now enter additional email addresses to receive notifications or a number to receive text messages.
10. Click the Courses link [1] and click the title of the course [2] to view the course in which your student is enrolled.
11. As a parent observer you can see the Calendar view which includes the Assignments due in each one of your student’s courses.

· Enter your email address and the password you created and select Log In.
· If you need a new password select, “Don’t know your password?” and follow the prompts.
