FULL TIME LEAD MECHANIC
12 MONTH POSITION WITH FULL BENEFITS
$20 PER HOUR – 40 HOUR WEEK

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 2 years experience of automotive/diesel repair and or a combination of training and experience OR graduated an automotive technology course at an accredited trade school or college and have 1 year of experience with ASE or other comparable certifications.
· Must possess OR be willing to attain a CDL license within six (6) months of employment.
· Must be able to operate mechanical equipment.
· Must have knowledge of the following:
Repairing gas and/or diesel engines Replacing exhaust systems
Tuning engines Rebuilding & adjusting carburetors
Maintaining of fuel injection systems Replacing brakes
Rebuilding calibers & replacing rotors Servicing transmissions
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventative maintenance, diagnosis, service and repair of steering, suspension, brakes, tires and minor repair and diagnosis of engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical, wheelchair lifts, and air conditioning systems. Prepare, assist, and conduct (with NJMV) school district vehicle inspections. Maintain appropriate records/maintenance sheets on all vehicles under the transportation department's supervision. Conduct scheduled service and preventative maintenance on any assigned vehicles in the fleet. Receive or pick up orders of parts. Assist in maintaining an update of the inventory of parts on-hand. Maintain garage in an orderly, productive and risk-free environment.
RELATED EXPECTATIONS:
The Mechanic should demonstrate the ability to meet work schedules and maintain output of work under normal conditions. Regular attendance, dependability, acceptance of responsibility, willingness to follow established procedures, cooperation with supervisors and fellow employees and ability to react appropriately to changing work conditions are normal expectations of the job.
