My Brother’s Keeper

John 13 34:35

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

Matthew 18:15-35 KJV

[15] Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

[16] But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

[17] And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.

[18] Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

[19] Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

[20] For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

[21] Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?

[22] Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.

[23] Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

[24] And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

[25] But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

[26] The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

[27] Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

[28] But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

[29] And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

[30] And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt. [31] So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

[32] Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

[33] Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

[34] And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

[35] So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto

you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

63-0728 - "Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

79 And Brother Neville goes through many strains and heartaches, that he doesn't show it here at the tabernacle. But being that the Lord lets me have a little sight into people's life, I know what he goes through; a whole lot of it, see. And he certainly goes under a lot of labor and strains, and things. And you, you people here, hold him up like Joshua and Caleb held up the hands of Moses, as he's bringing the Word.l

80 Love one another, above everything. Love one another. Don't… No matter what the devil tries to say! Now you're all one great big sweet group now, but remember my warning, see, Satan won't let that stay that way. No, sir. He'll shoot everything, if he has to bring somebody in to make his target. He'll bring some critic or unbeliever in, and sit him down, and cause him to fellowship with you under the quietness and things, and then he'll shoot that guy with some kind of a poison stuff, and he'll start through the church with it. Don't you take sides with it. Don't you have nothing to do with anything else. You stay right loving and sweet and kind to one another. Pray for that man, that he'll be saved too, or that woman, or ever who it is, just pray for them. And stick one with another.

81 And stay with your pastor. See, he's the shepherd, and you give him respects. He'll lead you through, and, 'cause he's ordained of God to do so.

82 Now do you remember that? [Congregation says, "Amen."—Ed.] The enemy will come. And when he does, just cling that much closer together. And the one that the devil is using for an enemy will either get out or come in and be one of you. That's all.

83 Don't never clan among one, or—or talk and make yourself clannish. We are one. I couldn't say, "Left hand, I'm—I'm mad at you, I'm going to take you away 'cause you're not a right hand." He's my left hand. I want him to stay there. Even the little tip of my finger, I want to stay right there, every little part of my body stay right there. And God wants us, as a body of believers, to stay right exactly with one another, right at with one another.

Rev. William Marrion Branham

84 And now you've got tapes on that. You've got tapes on what we believe. You've got tapes on discipline in the church, how we behave ourself in the church of God, how we got to come here together and sit together in Heavenly places. Don't stay home. If God is in your heart, you can't hardly wait for them doors to open out yonder, to get in here to fellowship with your brothers. If you don't, don't feel that way, then I tell you, it's time you got to praying.

85 Cause, we're in the last days, where the Bible exalted… or exhorted us to—to, "Much more as we see that day approaching," to love one another with Christian love and Divine love, "to assemble ourselves together in Heavenly places and—and—and Christ Jesus," and love one another. "This will all man know you are My disciples, when you have love one for the other." That's right. Stay right together.

86 If the brother, you think he's a little wrong, or the sister, say, "Lord, don't let me never have the root of bitterness spring up, 'cause it'll—it'll affect him, and it'll take the Christ right out of my life." That poison acids of malice, and jealousy, and hatred, that will just take the Holy Spirit right away from you. It will run Him from the tabernacle here. It'll kill the Spirit of God, or drive It away from here, hurt you pastor. It'll do everything. See? Don't you do that.

87 You just wax that much closer together. Draw up the… Take the buckle, as the brother testified, a minister here the other night, about having a buckle, seeing it in a vision. Just… That buckles on the whole armor of God. Just pull her on, tighten up, move right up close to one another. Love one another, anyhow. Talk nice about one another, say nice things about one another, and then God will bless you.

88 Now this morning, the Lord willing, by His help and grace, I got quite a bunch of questions here, of Scriptures, rather. And now before we approach It… I think I heard the recorders click on in there. We are going to bring the Message now, by God's grace.

WHAT IS TRUE LOVE

62-0714 - "The Uncertain Sound"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

42 That’s the reason sometimes people think I—I—I get rough with people, bawling them out. It’s not ’cause I don’t love you, it’s because I do love you. What if your little boy was setting out in the street, and you said, “Junior, dear, I—I… You shouldn’t set out there. Daddy don’t want to hurt…” You’d better strip the hide off of him, if you love him. Keep him in off of that street. Real love is corrective. Genuine love is corrective.

What if your wife was running around with some other man, and you said, “Dear, I—I hope you have a good time, but really I don’t think you should do it.” She ought to kick you out the door. That’s right. Yeah. Real love is corrective. That’s right.

63-0126 - "Investments"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

308 That’s the way God does His. You don’t say it to be mean. You say it for love. People has got all things mixed up, thinking love is just some little puppy dog something. Love is straight. God is love. God rebukes and chastens because of love. I hope that soaks just as deep as I pre-tend it to do, see, that it’s—it’s love that corrects. It’s love that’s corrective. And genuine love will stand correction. But puppy dog pat-on-the-back, and “Dr. So-and-so, Bishop So-and-so,” sometimes it makes the Holy Spirit cry within your heart. That’s right.

63-0317m - "God Hiding Himself In Simplicity, Then Revealing Himself In The Same"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

52 Remember, love is corrective, see, always. Genuine love is corrective, so you must be able to stand the correction. And, mothers, know now that there’s a place there for your babies. You young kids know different than to run around over the building. See? And you adults know different than to talk and carry on your conversations in the auditorium. See? Don’t do that. It’s wrong. It isn’t pleasing to God.

IF A BRO IS WRONG

62-0121e - "The Marriage Of The Lamb"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

165 The Holy Ghost is meekness, joy, peace, longsuffering, goodness, gentleness, patience, faith. The Holy Ghost, that’s the fruit of the Spirit, that the Holy Spirit bears in the Church of the living God, sweetness, and humbleness, humility, love one for another, longsuffering.

166 If a brother has gone wrong, don’t just beat him or something another. Go after him and see if you can get him back. Don’t wait for the preacher do it. You do it, somebody else. Preacher can’t do it all, neither can the deacons. Everybody, is a member of this Body of Christ, should go after one another. We got…And if we got the Spirit of Christ in us…He taught the great parable. They left the ninety and nine, and went after that one. That’s what we’re supposed to do. But we say, “Oh, let them go.” We never should do that. We should be gentle, forgiving, longsuffering. That’s the fruit of the Spirit.

57-0915e - "Hebrews, Chapter Seven #1"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

89 Now, “All wars,” as I say, “are fought for principles.” Now, if you have a little war in church, it must be the right principle. You must be fighting for the right thing. And each member of the church is supposed to do that. Now, this teaching is for the church. That’s what we’re here for. That’s what I’m standing here for. That’s what God’s Word is for, is for the church.

90 Don’t never let nothing hinder this church. If it does, you’re guilty, each one of you. And you, in your different churches, if something is going wrong in your church, you’re guilty, because you’re the overseer of that church. It ain’t up to the pastor. It ain’t up to the deacon board. It’s up to you, you individual, to go to that brother and see if you can have him reconciled. If not, then take two or three with you, then come back. He won’t hear that, tell it to the church. Then he’s dismissed from the Kingdom of God. God said, “If you dismiss him there, I’ll dismiss him Here, if you’ve went through this order.” Then He’ll turn the devil loose to him for the construction…destruction of his flesh. And then he’ll come back. That’s right. That’s the way to make him come back. If he’s a child of God, he will come back. If he isn’t, why—why, he’ll go on, and then the devil will send him on to his Eternal place.

92 But, still, he was a fallen brother, and Abraham done all that he could do to bring him back again. And the Spirit was in Abraham, is the Spirit of Christ that’s in the church today. No matter what the brother has done, you’ll do all you can to bring him back into the fellowship of Christ again. No matter what he’s done, you’ll try .

61-0618 - "Revelation, Chapter Five #2"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

33 Now, if there comes something up in the church that’s not right, then let the individual, who knows that’s not right, go to the person. And if the person will not be reconciled; then the next thing to do is take a witness and go, or maybe one or two witnesses, and go to this person to get them reconciled or get the thing straightened out. Now, listen close! Now, this is being taped, also. And then if that don’t work…

34 Don’t never let a little ism, or a little something another, a little bad feeling ever rise up among you. Get it out of the way right now! So that’s a little…It’s the little fox that spoils the grapes, you know. So keep it out of the way! Any little funny feeling, go and tell the person to it. Say, “I’m—I’m wrong. I—I don’t feel right towards you, or something. Help me to pray over it, that I’ll get better.” Because, we don’t want nothing but just purely, the unadulterated, Holy Spirit of God among us. That’s all we want. Then will the gifts and things will work right and everything will be coming right.

35 Why have a half a church when you can have a whole one? Why accept a substitute when the whole skies are full of the genuine? See? We don’t want that. So if a little funny feeling ever comes up among with you members, one to the other, you go to that person.

You say, “Well, they did me…”

36 That…it’s…Now, remember, not “if you have error or fault against a brother,” but “If a brother has something against you.” See? Go to him and be reconciled, tell him that you—that you’ve had a strange feeling about him and you want to make friends, and pray and go down at the altar and get the thing out of the midst of you.

37 Now, Satan will constantly punch at you until you’re finished here on earth. Just remember that. You’ll never have a time but what there’s a punching going on all the time, ’cause you’re in a battle. Did you ask to come to Christ, to going to a picnic? Well, you’re sure going to be surprised, because it’s a constant battle. I’ve been on the field for thirty-one years, and I’ve fought every inch of the way. That’s right. Israel had to fight every inch of the way. They—they…Palestine was given to them, but they had to fight every inch of the way to get it.

38 Now, remember this now, that if…Then if there’s something comes up in the church, then let the pastor…and if you—if you have to come get the pastor, to take them to the person. Then if they won’t hear that, then come up before the church and tell it before the church. Give them so much time to be reconciled, maybe from one Sunday to the next. And if they will not hear the church, then the Bible said “Let them be as a heathen and a publican.”

39 That, see, as long as they are protected by the church, Satan cannot get to them. But when the church looses them from under the protection of the church and the Blood of Christ, then Satan will go to work on them. That’ll bring them right into reconciliation again. See? You—you understand that, don’t you, pastor? Yes, sir.

40 So that’s the thing to always remember to do, is to be reconciled, come to God and go God’s way. We’ve got…

43 See, the Bible said that “False christs would rise in the last days and would deceive the very elected if it was possible.” But it’s not possible. No, sir. The Elected was foreordained, so they will not be deceived, you see.

45 When you can see a man that’s wrong, and proven wrong, then that shows he wants to be a Christian, he walks up and says, “I am wrong.” That’s—that’s a real Christian.

46 But that guy that’ll all blow up, and run around to one side and say, “Aw, there wasn’t nothing to It,” and like this; watch out, brother, you can see right then that he went out under condemnation because he wasn’t of us. But always, pastor, come to that Word and It’ll do it every time. But you’ve got to stay with the Word.

65-1212 - "Communion"

Rev. William Marrion Branham

54 Then when we come to the Lord’s table, we must come in reverence, love and respect, of “Look where we would have been if it hadn’t been for Him.” See? Look where it would’ve…
