Minutes for November 4, 2016 safety meeting

I.  2:00- called the meeting to order.

II.  Members signed the sheet and meeting proceeded. –

PRESENT – Lisa Moran, Colin Furneaux, Mike Cardone, Frank Flaherty

ABSENT – Trish Shivock, John Stone,Cathy Berghauser, Maura Healey, Robin Ploskonka

III.  No minutes were provided for prior meetings for approval.

IV.  Accident review was read by Lisa Moran

V. Inspection Review –

  1. We will start inspections again in January and February. We will look at establishing building inspection teams again next meeting

V.  New Business –

·  Chairperson named – Lisa Moran

·  Vice Chairperson – Colin Furneaux

·  Recorder – Robin Ploskonka

·  Inspection form – we need a more comprehensive form so that we can be more specific and pay closer attention. Lisa combined the two examples. Lisa will send out the new form electronically to the safety committee. Vote to accept new form was unanimous. Cathy B will see that all administrators get a copy of the new form so that they know what we will be looking for during inspections.

·  Lisa asked about the cameras at Learning Campus, Moosic location and Admin Bldg.. Locations to capture high risk areas. Parking lot of all IU locations.

·  Carpet at “time clock entrance” trip hazard

·  Will there be a cover over the ramp at LC?

·  Poor lighting in front of the 1200 Line St. location

·  Distribution of new workers comp panel physician forms to be sent to all employee’s

·  Food in 1200 Line St. kitchen sink clogs drain and backs up tank – causing flooding in kitchen

·  All members must be certified. Webinar training available. Dates to be sent to all members
