- MAJOR OCCURRENCES & INVESTIGATION: -
DIVISION / OCCURRENCES / INVESTIGATION
Mira Road S/S / · DT-2, DC ground was detected in 33KV Voltas breaker plug and socket arrangement. Socket and plug replaced with a spare one purchased from market.
Saki R/S / · 4/5/2007, Transformer #1 110 kV breaker Hydraulic trips, LS gear mechanism failed. Replaced by electronic timer.
· 4&5/05/07, 22 kV Cap 3 and MIDC1/Vihar 1 feeder tripped simultaneously. Capacitor Bank 3 Raychem Cable termination (on paper insulated cable) breakdown leading to fire. Probably the ionisation vapour travelled to M1/V1 cubicle through opening between the two compartments resulting into tripping of feeder breaker.
Trombay A G/S / · 24/05/07Unit # 4 was taken out due to heavy sparking on brushes, Insulation between Rotor and Slip-ring found burnt. Rotor IR was found to be Zero. Non-operation of Rotor E/F relay was investigated & found to be due to dropped trip links of DC injection voltage. Relay tested OK.
Trombay B G/S / · 8/05/07, CWP # 6D tripped on E/F, Motor stator winding found shorted to ground.
Dharavi R/S / · 03/05/07, Tr. 5 Lt bkr. Load sharing was found to be unequal. Investigation revealed Loose contact in LT breaker due to support insulator defect.
· 14/05/07, DT- 5 tripping on diff. relay, Wild cat found in LT bkr cable compartment which created flashover.
Carnac R/S / · 23/5/07, Tr. 8 tripped on a feeder fault due to NGT8 buchh. Relay action, Mal operation of NGT Buchh. Relay. The Buchh. Relay has been replaced with an imported relay from CGL having magnetic reed relay contacts instead of mercury switches.
Mahalaxmi R/S / · 27/05/07, Tr. 3 tripped on diff. relay action during charging. RADSB diff. relay mal operated during transformer charging after transformer diagnostic testing – possibly due to winding resistance test carried out in the last resulting in core magnetisation.
E. FAULTS / ABNORMALITIES DETECTED DURING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING:-
Total No of faults detected. : - 03 nos.Significant Defects Detected::-
· Kolshet R/S:- 20 May 2007, 22 kV Pokhran 2 breaker C pole high contact resistance, C-pole replaced and tested on 21st May 2007
· Dharavi R/S:- 20/05/07, ICT-9 MT B-ph bushing tan-d found high., Bushing replaced.
· Backbay R/S: 13/05/07, ICT 1 – cable box buchh. Relay found not operating during oil draining; Relay
cleaned by draining oil for 3, 4 times and relay started functioning properly.
