AAYSA will award 4 or more - $2,000 scholarships. This is a ONE TIMEAward.
Eligibility: Seniors who will graduate in the Spring of the current year, a GPA of 2.75 or higher
and must have played on an AAYSAsoccer team for at least one season.
Applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, April 17, 2017.
The Essay and school transcriptmust accompany the application.

Instructions:
The applicant is to write an original essay in response to one of the following topic questions.
The essay will be judged on a combination of factors, grammatical style, and ability to stay within the topic of the question. Also being evaluated is the degree to which you are successful in justifying your views and expressing them in a clear and convincing manner. Finally, an attempt will be made to determine your level of sincerity based on your writing.
At the top of your essay, please include the question you choose from the two below.
Essay Question 1:
Sportsmanship is an important factor in all sports. What experience have you had in AAYSA which have taught you about the value of good sportsmanship? How do you feel these lessons may help you as an adult, to be more successful in your academic pursuits, career and family life?
Essay Question 2:
As you prepare for a career, what important values and principles do you take with you as a result of your participation in the AAYSA? What personal strengths have you gained and would like to pass on to younger players, if you had the opportunity?
Again:The essay will be judged on a combination of factors, grammatical style, and ability to stay within the topic of the question. Also being evaluated is the degree to which you are successful in justifying your views and expressing them in a clear and convincing manner. Finally, an attempt will be made to determine your level of sincerity.
Any entries that do not follow the rules will be disqualified, so please read the requirements carefully.
Any entries postmarked after the April 17,2017deadline will not be considered.

This scholarship is funded by the entry fees of the AAYSA Classic Soccer Tournament, played in the Fall of each year by the teams of the AAYSA.
