Grammar Practice Flipbook

Instructions:

1.  Take three sheets of construction paper. Place them one on top of the other to create your flipbook tabs.

2.  Fold the construction papers over until you have created four tabs of equal size.

3.  The very top tab will be larger. This will be your title tab.

4.  Staple the top with TWO (2) staples only. Only one staple will not hold the flipbook together. More than two is wasting staples.

d.  4th Tab – Clauses and Phrases

e.  5th Tab – Capitalization and Punctuation

a.  A simple sentence

b.  A compound sentence

c.  A complex sentence

Do not capitalize or punctuate your sentences!!!!! You will correct that on the 5th tab. Write your sentences with a pencil first!!!!

8.  Write the three sentences on each flap of the flipbook. Make sure that you write the sentences big enough to follow the rest the of directions but not so big that all three cannot fit on the same flap.

9.  For each sentence, you will label only the parts written on the tab. For example, on the Parts of Speech tab, you will only the Parts of Speech for the words in your three sentences. On the Sentence Parts, only identify the parts of the sentence (subject, predicate, direct/indirect object, predicate noun/adjective).

10.  On the BACK of your flipbook, define the following:

a.  Clauses

b.  Phrases

c.  Parts of Speech

d.  Sentence Parts

11.  Your flipbook should be neat and visually appealing to your audience. You will able to use this flipbook as a reference for future warm-ups and to review for the CRCT.
