In the story “Cinderella”, adapted and retold by Andi Harris, Cinderella was a positive and hard-working character. She was an orphan who was lonely and treated poorly by her stepfamily. Throughout the story, she kept a positive attitude, which she showed by smiling and singing while she worked. Shealso showed determination in completing her tasks, even when they seemed never-ending. For example, on the day of the ball, Cinderella got up early and worked twice as hard to finish her extra chores. A negative or lazy character might have thought they could never get everything done. But instead of giving up and complaining, Cinderella made up her mind that she could get all of the chores done in time, which shows that she was both positive and determined. She really wanted to be a part of a family and be treated like the other girls, but her stepfamily ordered her around and made her do all the cleaning and work around the house. Cinderella continued to work hard, treat them with respect, and look on the bright side, and these qualities helped her get what she wanted in the end.
