Studentsareexpectedto:
- Understand what generalist practice is; understand the ‘theory-practice link’.
- Comprehend the different roles that social workers play as well as the various levels of intervention in the context of Generalist social work.
- Comprehend the processes of multilevel practice in generalist social work and acquire skills of intervention in micro-mezzo-macro level.

CONTENT OF THE COURSE
- Generalist social work practice – main characteristics.
- The eco-systems perspective – values and multicultural competence.
- Phases and processes of generalist social work (engagement, assessment, intervention, evaluation).
- Multilevel practice in generalist social work (microlevel, mezzolevel, macrolevel interventions).
- Empowerment and generalist social work.

STUDENTS’ EVALUATION / Theory (50% of the total grade) : Intermediate test (optional, 40% of the total grade); final written exam (60% of the total theory grade)
Lab (50% of the total grade): end of semester paper (case study)
