Subject: Second meeting of the Joint Rapporteur Group of Working Parties 6S and 9D on frequency sharing between the fixed service and the broadcasting-satellite service (sound)

Introduction

The meeting of the Joint Rapporteur Group of Working Parties 6S and 9D (JRG 6S-9D) was foreseen in the programme of the Radiocommunication Study Groups by the meeting of Study Group Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen in September 2001.

Date and place of the meeting

JRG 6S-9D willhold its second meeting from 7to 11 March 2002, with the possibility of extension, if required. The meeting will take place in the ITU Headquarters, Geneva and will open at 9:30.

Programme of the meeting

The draft meeting agenda of JRG 6S-9D is contained in Annex 1.

Working language

JRG 6S-9D will conduct its work in English.

Contributions

JRG 6S-9D works by correspondence. Therefore, contributions to the work of JRG6S9D are invited and should be preferably forwarded by electronic mail. The Secretariat has established anEmail reflector () for the JRG on the basis of the participation received. Contributions to the JRG 6S-9D should be forwarded to the above address.


Only in exceptional cases, participants may submit contributions on paper copy, accompanied by their electronic version, with the understanding that the Secretariat will need a convenient time to disseminate these documents through the above-mentioned E-mail reflector. No document dispatching will be done.

Documents relevant to JRG 6S-9D are available to all participants on the Web site http://www.itu.int/itudoc/itu-r/sg9/docs/6s-9d/2000-03/contrib/index.html.

According to the ITU-R patent policy (Annex 1 to Resolution ITU-R 1-3), contributions containing a proposal for a Recommendation should draw the attention to any known patent or to any known pending patent application relating to systems or technologies considered in the proposal.

Visa requirements

We would remind you that citizens of some countries are required to obtain a visa in order to enter and spend any time in Switzerland. The visa must be requested and obtained from the office (embassy or consulate) representing Switzerland in your country or, if there is no such office in your country, from the one that is closest to the country of departure. If problems are encountered, the Union can, at the official request of the administration or company you represent, approach the competent Swiss authorities in order to facilitate delivery of the visa. Any such request must specify the name and functions of the individual(s) for whom the visa(s) is/are requested and be accompanied by a copy of the approved registration form approved for the ITU conference or meeting in question.

Participation

In order to make the necessary arrangements, it is requested that the intended participation of your representative(s) be registered as participant in the parent Working Party 6S by means of the annexed registration form (Annex 3) (to be photocopied as required). Only one registration for Working Party 6S should be done, if this approach is followed.
