Other info (optional) – tell us a bit about yourself/your music:

I’m from south Italy and I love all ‘bout folk revival and celtic music. I grow up with John Renbourn, Nick Drake, Bert Jansch, Nic Jones, Pierre Bensusan; but I love Bach too, classical music in general, jazz, Tuck&Patty, Pat Metheny, Yamandu Costa, Richard Galliano, John Doyle, Al Di Meola, Piazzolla, Glenn Gould, The Swingle Singers, John Martyn, pop, funky, celtic, ethnic, acoustic blues, Mediterranean music, Chinese music. Honestly, I don’t like rock music and electric music; but if Steve Ray Vaughan, Mark Knopfler or gifted and inspired artists are playing, I like their sound. I prefer those artists who strive to communicate their story, their emotions, their vision and I’m trying to follow this road.

I love intimate, introspective music e language: the language of soul, like Nick’s music. I’m a self-taught composer and I have two musical projects in my mind. One is based on instrumental pieces and original compositions. With the second I write lyrics and music concerning my regional heritage, influenced and blended with other musical languages, trying to treat anthropologic and traditional elements in a new musical and personal vision

In 2011 I produced my first album, titled “Wandering Soul”, eight original instrumental compositions written for acoustic guitar, flute and cello.

Here a playlist of my album: http://cdbaby.com/cd/giuseppedavenia4

Actually, I have not a lot of videos published on youtube that I’m using only recently to publish, but I have a lots of repertoire to be published. In the last time, I spend I lot of time trying to tab Nick Drake’ compositions. I would like to play Far Leys during Nick Drake Gathering and another song, perhaps Man in a Shed or a composition of mine. But I prefer not to think for now.. A particular: Maria Teresa discovered Nick and Nick’s music one year ago and she fell in love with Nick’s art, Me, I think to Nick person and music many times. I wish to spend time with Nick in another life, another dimension.

2nd Choice: Saturday 27th July 2013

By selecting a first and second choice above, you indicate that you would be willing and available to perform at either of the two concerts. If you are unavailable or unwilling to perform on one of the dates, please indicate the date you wish to perform as your 1st choice, and leave the 2nd choice blank. Please note that indicating only a 1st choice will NOT make it any more likely that you will be selected for your 1st choice than if you had also included a 2nd choice – the only difference it will make is that if it is not possible to include you in the line-up for your 1st choice, you will not be considered for the other concert.

While we will take your preference into account, the line-up for each concert will be decided according to the suitability of each application for the concert applied for (i.e., not on a ‘first come, first served’ basis).

If selected to perform at the 2013 Gathering, you agree to inform us as soon as possible of any changes in your situation that will affect your availability to perform this year, and that you will help us by responding to communications we send, where a response is requested.

Add name here, to indicate that you agree to the above:

Please return this form, completed, to between 1st December 2012 and 28th February 2013.

Any application received before 1st December will not be counted.

Applications received after 29th February will be considered for a place on the waiting list.

While we will take your preference into account, the line-up for each concert will be decided according to the suitability of each application for the concert applied for (i.e., not on a ‘first come, first served’ basis).

We can only consider applications which have been made by submitting this form - no applications made by any other means are valid.

Thank you for your application.

We will reply to your email, confirming we have received it.

You can expect to hear the result of our decision by the end of March 2013.
