Volunteers
We could not provide this event without the help of volunteers. We would appreciate any help that you can give. We know that many of you full all of your hours with weaving baskets, but sometimes even a few minutes of your time in the kitchen or the silent auction can be helpful. (Just to give someone a bathroom break would be appreciated). For those who can give us a 2 or 3 hour block of time, please stop by either the kitchen or the silent auction and I am sure we can find a job for you. Again, thank you for your help.
CAMPING
Camper hookups are available on theKuhlmanBuilding grounds for $20.00 per night. This fee is due with your teacher checks.
LODGING
Participants will need to make their own lodging accommodations. We have made special arrangements with the Richmond / Wayne County Convention & Tourism Bureau for room rates. Call them nd they will help you make your reservations.
Visit their website for a map of Richmond:www.visitrichmond.orgor you can obtain directions and the map from our retreat website at:www.statelinefriends.com
FOOD
A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided each day. This is included in your registration fee.
Snacks of chips, cookies, fruit and vegetables, etc will be available in the snack area each day. We will also have soda pop, water, tea, coffee, lemonade, etc. to drink. If you would like to bring either candy, chips, cookies, fruit, vegetables, etc. to share we would greatly appreciate it. If you bring a homemade item please bring the recipe if you are willing to share it. Also, if you bring vegetables or fruit if it could be cleaned and ready to serve it would be greatlyappreciated.
Silent Auction:
We will be having a "Silent Auction" for this event. We ask that the items be basket related. Please do not donate used items, patterns that have been photocopied or alcoholic beverages. Thank you in advance for your gracious donations. Thank you also to the teachers and vendors for always being so willing to donate items to events such as this. It is not necessary to mail your item, you may bring it with you to Retreat. We do request, if possible, to please have it there by 9:00 a.m. on April14th. This auctions helps pay for the rent of the Kuhlman Building which in turn helps to keep your registration fee lower.
Vendors
Vendors will be located in the main lobby as well as around the outer wall of the weaving area. Pleaseremember to shop the vendors. Vendors make it convenient for you to purchase items while at a retreat/workshop/convention by bringing their items to you. This gives you the opportunity to save on shipping and handling as well as being able to see and touch the items in person. Remember, if you don't shop the vendors, they will not likely return and a retreat/workshop/convention without vendors just wouldn't be so nice.So start making your list now.
