LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE

Minutes for Meeting of August 10, 1016

Present:

Adam Anderko, Mike Weibel, Daniel Garvin, Eric Andersen, Art Deyo, Caleb Fifield, David Hess, Phil Langhus, Greg Delauter, Joe Hawkins, Kurt Robinette, Sara Andersen, Steven Keene and Marsha Andersen

Excused from the meeting were Jeff Hadfield, Steve Batis, Kevin Christensen, Mark Millett, Blair Westergard, Jonathan Kavanagh, Jim Hess, Dorene Stever and Janet Bass

The meeting was opened at 9:00 a.m. by Adam Anderko

A motion was made by Greg Delauter and seconded by Mike Weibel to accept the July 13th meeting Minutes. Motion carried.

No hazmat report. Mike Weibel advised that he will follow up with Clayne when he is unable to attend. Also, Eric Andersen advised that the Elwood issue has been turned over to the State.

Adam advised that there was a remote vote by the Executive Committee on grant usage with the vote tally not completed yet.

Mike Weibel advised that the BRHD will be setting up their Blue Med tent for the Preparedness Expo, which holds 25 to 50 patients depending on the set up

Art Deyo advised that Wade Francis has been hired by the Fire Marshall’s Office and he will be attending future LEPC meetings. Also, on March 14, 2017 the University of Utah and the Fire Marshall’s Office will be conducting a homemade explosives class.

Eric Andersen advised that Walmart is getting new equipment installed to alleviate the power issues. There will also be a radiation class sometime in January.

Greg Delauter advised that Procter & Gamble just completed their evacuation drills, which went well. They also recently purchased a new emergency response trailer and tent. This will be Greg’s last LEPC meeting, as he is transferring to the east coast.

Phil Langhus introduced himself as HAFB’s Emergency Manager. He can be reached 24/7 at 505-414-3844. As a back up David Hess can be reached at 801-777-3007.

At this time Phil did a presentation on what HAFB can provide in an emergency.

At 9:25 a motion was made by Mike Weibel and seconded by Greg Delauter to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.

The next meeting is September 14th at 9:00 a.m. at the Sheriff Department.
