Men’s Game of the Week – Hustle vs. Comanche (A/B League)
The tough Hustle took on a game Comanche team in an important A/B matchup. With nobody yelling ‘Let’s Go Hustler’ from the sidelines, the Comanche were able to focus on the task at hand and kept the game close throughout. In a season full of overtime games, this game was no different. In the end, the Hustle barely escaped with a 38 to 37 win. Padin led the way for the Hustle with 10 points, while Mussulman and Lebahn each had 8. Williams had 18 for the Comanche who also got 13 from Stellatos.
Ladies Game of the Week – Thunder vs. Wolves
The Wolves, who have yet to field a full team once this season, took on the Thunder in a huge ladies matchup. The Wolves had no answer for Smith who went off for 30 points in the Thunder’s 53 to 46 win. India Thomas did all she could to lead the Wolves to the victory with 25 points while Mallory Carrico had 14.
Legend of the Week –Koshuta(Khanmen)
New Legends player Jim Koshuta received his first Legends of the Week award for his stellar play in leading the Khanmen to a perfect 5-0 start. Without the services of Olechna and Miller, Koshuta was the only legitimate big man for the Khanmen but still managed to play great defense, pick up huge rebounds and throw down 21 points in the Khanmen’s 49 to 46 win over the Terminators. This game should have been selected as Game of the Week, but this writer did not see the game! The Terminators should have won the game, but with just seconds left, they called a phantom timeout they did not have, and the Khanmen took advantage by sinking the free-throws to take the lead and go on to win! Long time Terminator Kevin Copeland has entered therapy to discuss his “problem with time-outs”. The therapist went public yesterday, saying she thought Kevin spent a lot of time in “time-outs” when a young child.
“The Beast” Koshuta!
