The course focuses on immediate needs, utilizing fundamental elements of NIMS and HICS that are essential for a successful mitigation. We don't get bogged down with specifics of either NIMS or HICS, but as the incident evolves beyond the thirty minute window, the other elements of these ICS systems are incorporated as warranted.
Successful mitigation of an incident is dependent on the initial actions taken at the onset of the event. The response needs to be driven by the event, not the organization chart. This course offers a unique approach to disaster management that is functional and can be applied to a wide variety of possible events. Space is limited and is available on a first come, first serve basis. Those interested should contact me as soon as possible, so we can reserve the appropriate number of spaces for your facility. / Cost: Free
