2015-2016

If you have more than 3 children, God bless you! And please print an additional copy of this page.

DISCIPLINE POLICY

Please understand that if a child is disruptive and/or disrespectful, he or she will be sent to the office. The consequencefor disruption and/or disrespect is a writing task -- copying Bible verses, prayers, the Commandments, etc., unless an alternate punishment is requested by a parent. If a child is frequently disruptive or disrespectful and sent to the office, parents will be contacted as to how best to proceed--a possible solution would be for a parent to attend class with their child.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

With only 22 weeks of instruction per year, we feel that missing more than 3 sessions can have a negative impact on a child. Special circumstances aside, we ask for your cooperation in making every effort to respect this request.

CELL PHONE POLICY

Our preference would be that, for the one hour the children are with us, they leave their cell phones with you. However, if they choose to bring them to class, the teacher may (at their discretion) provide a Ziploc bag for the phone. Bags will be labeled and will be kept in a basket until class is over. Children will not be able to contact you during class time. Of course, if there were an emergency, we would be in touch immediately. We are grateful for your support with this policy.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

PLEASE CHECK THE BOX IF YOU ARE WILLING TO HELP

Hall Monitor -- Bring a book, get a cup of coffee and a snack, and sit in the hallway (upstairs or downstairs) and monitor children who are taking the l-o-n-g way back to class from the bathroom. Downstairs monitor would also assure that any adult entering the building is a family member of one of our students.

Special Events -- Help with special events like the Christmas Pageant, Book Fair, VacationBibleSchool, special activity days and the like. Many hands make light work!

Parent FellowshipIf you are just plain tired of running, please feel free to stay at the Academy. Thecoffee is always fresh and there is usually something good to eat. Sit a whileand enjoy some fellowship with other parents.

Suggestions from other parishes I'd LOVE to hear them! I'm always looking for new ideas and ways to make our program even better! If you visit another Church and see something you like, please share it with me!
