Answer the Question: Why is the character doing that? The Squire dresses and behaves the way he does because it allows him to attract women.
Connect the signpost to a specific literary element: I think this contradiction in behavior is related to the theme that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Because the squire is a fighter/soldier, we assume he would be more rugged, like the Knight, but that is not so. We see that the Squire is both a lover and a fighter.
