ROCKET SPORTS INFORMATION WEEK 4 REVIEW

Rocket Nation,

This week is homecoming week. Our campus is filled with anticipation and excitement. The energy level is high and the students have promised to come out in full force. Our hope is that this Homecoming will be the largest attended game at the Mount in recent memory. So all of Rocket Nation are encouraged to be there Friday night at 7pm to enjoy the festivities of Homecoming. The Homecoming Court will be escorted and announced at halftime.

So let’s do some recaps and let’s keep rolling BIG BLUE!!!

CHEER

The girls did fantastic last weekend at Midwest City High School finishing 3rd in Regionals. You would have been especially proud of our girls as they were awaiting the results, they invited the Douglas cheer squad to come over to their huddle and cheer with them. It was a pretty cool and thoughtful gesture. Their routine was flawless and their success will do them well as they turn their attention to State Cheer this weekend. We hope you join us this Saturday in Stillwater at OSU.

COACH STILES SAYS-

I particularly want to thank the Rocket fans who attended Regionals at MWC High School on Saturday. When the girls came through that tunnel and looked up and saw all of that sea of Rocket Blue they were filled with joy. There was no doubt that MSM had more fans than any other school. And a special thanks to Spirit and Blue Crew Director Sean Lipps for your energy , enthusiasm and Rocket Pride.

SOFTBALL

It was senior night last Thursday night at Joe Rischard Field and our girls put it all together both defensively and offensively to beat Millwood 14-6.Elizabeth Cordova hit a towering home run to center field as our seniors Kiersten Love, Molly Carlson, Makenzie Hudson, Kayla Gallagher and Paige Whalen played their last home game.

COACH MARTIN SAYS-

Our girls appreciated all who came out for senior night and were especially thankful for the many teachers who came out. This Thursday we travel to Jones for District Play. The playoff is best 2 out of 3 and our girls and coaches feel some good momentum as a result of the Millwood victory. So we ask Rocket nation to come out to Jones on Thursday and cheer on our girls to victory.
