Science London Trip

Dear Parent Name

Re: STUDENT : REG

The Science Department at Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College is going to take a group of 40 students from Years 7-9 on a four day science visit to London. This visit will be from 17 to 20 July 2017. I am sure you will agree that this is a fantastic opportunity and interest from students already suggests that the visit will be oversubscribed.

The cost of the visit is £400 per student and although good value, in order to spread the cost of the visit, we will be asking for an initial deposit of £120, which will be broken down into two payments; one of £70 and the other of £50. The remaining £280 will be paid over the following nine months. A payment schedule has been enclosed with this letter.

The four days will be action packed in order that every hour of the day is geared to giving your child an outstanding experience of London. Some activities from the itinerary are listed below:

·  A visit to the Natural History and Science Museum

·  Flight on the London Eye

·  Thames river cruise

·  Visit to the Tower of London

·  West End Theatre (Aladdin including drink and an ice cream )

·  Evening meals at the Hard Rock Café, River Forest Café and Pizza Express.

·  Harry Potter World and Media Workshop

·  Bowling

·  Visit to Covent Gardens

·  London Dungeon’s

·  Visit to Thorpe Park (theme park)

Students will be staying at the Meininger Hotel, which is close to Hyde Park and they will have use of an executive coach throughout the visit. In addition to the tour cost your child will need limited spending money and we recommend no more than £60. Please note that the visit is fully catered with breakfast, lunch and evening meal provided. Drinks are also provided throughout the day.

This is an amazing opportunity which will provide memories that will last a lifetime for your child. Places are limited and it is envisaged that the visit will be extremely popular. In order to secure a place a parent or guardian must complete the attached documentation and return it with a deposit for £70 by 10 June 2016. Please note a place will not be secured without a deposit. In the likely event that the visit is oversubscribed, the school will take into consideration behaviour points, attitude to learning and attendance when allocating places. Payment details are as follows:

Deposit = £70 (payment by 10 June 2016)

Final deposit payment= £50 (payment by 10th July 2016)

2nd Payment = £90 (payment by 23rd September 2016)

3rd payment = £80 (payment by 9th December 2016)

4th Payment = £60 (payment by 3rd February 2017)

5th Payment = £50 (payment by 25th March 2017)

The visit is being booked through NST, one of the UK’s leading educational travel companies for schools. They will work closely with us during the whole tour planning process to ensure that your child will get the very best experience while away.

All deposits and a signed copy of the attached form should be returned to Student Reception by 10th June. Forms returned after this time may not be considered. In addition to this please complete a copy of the attached consent form.

Yours faithfully,

D Rowe
