General description

These Feelie Dice allow you to feel, mix and match different textures on 6 rotating cubes. The 6 spinning dice have a different texture on each side that can be paired as you wish; once you’ve finished, you can remove the dice from the stand and re-arrange them for a new game. Play the game vertically or horizontally for a different experience and to suit different environments.

This game develops tactile discrimination and fine motor skills for the user. Additionally, if played in a group it will also encourage social and communication skills.

The stand is 45 cm long, 19 cm wide and each cube is 6 cm wide.

Using the product

This game is suitable for 1 player or a group. When used in a group, the users will develop the ability to mentally describe what they are touching so they can share that with the other players; therefore developing their communication skills.

How the game works:

Playing vertically or horizontally, each player has to try to match the different textured sides of the dice into pairs by touch. Simply turn the dice on the axis to mix and match.

For further games, the dice can be removed from the stand. To do this, position the stand in the vertical position. At the top, remove the horizontal wooden dowel (pin) from the hole in the central rod situated above the top, square end plate. The wooden pin is attached to a string so you can’t lose it. Now lift off the square end plate holding the rest of the unit stable as you do so. Remove the dice by sliding them up the central pole, re-arrange and replace back onto the pole. Replace the square piece back onto the unit.

They can be used for a wide range of varied activities to encourage memory and tactile development; this game is great for learning different textures and for developing memory as you must remember where on the stand the matching pair is.
